Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards debuted in NXT tonight as The American Pitbulls and they had a competitive match against The Ascension that WAS taped and WILL air on Hulu.

So this is them trying to get signed right?
I don't like them in the ring but the WWE has given guys with no business in the rings deals. Why not give them developmental deals?

I've said before, I think you could turn Edwards into a solid mid-card act. I don't think Richards will amount to much on the big stage.

I don't think Richards will amount to much on the big stage. Same thing was said about Punk, Bryan, Rollins, Ambrose and Cesaro. In those five alone there's two former multiple time World Champions, two United States champions who averaged about 6 months each with the title and two of the five have been essentially main event guys for a year now.

People were dead on about Low Ki though.
I thought all of those guys could make it minus Rollins. I didn't think he had enough personality.

I think they are both SOL though. It sounds like the E is getting a boner for big guys again. I think someone is going to have to really go out on a limb for them.

You mean like Regal did to get them back to NXT in the first place?

American Pitbulls (or Wolves) could be the British Bulldogs of a new generation. There is no denying the comparison, and apparently someone in the E notices it judging by that name they were given. Every couple of years people get these high hopes that a tag team division will be coming back any day now to the late 80-early 90s glory where a tag team title match could main event a "b" house show, so I don't want to be that guy. However, if they add them to the roster the pieces are in place.

I hadn't heard the Regal part. Last I read, they were going down to try and get them to change their minds on a deal.

I actually like the American Pitbulls name about a million times better than the American Wolves. It's less generic and gives you an expectation of their attitude in the ring.

1) the Pitbulls name is light years better than the Wolves name
2) It's blatantly obvious they're going for the Bulldog ripoff.
3) I like both 1 & 2 and hopefully we'll see a change in the tag culture in the Wwe

Yeah, I mean Davey Richards is a giant fan of a murderer who was a giant fan of a sociopath. What the fuck does that have to do with the name "American Wolves" (or even "American Pitbulls") being a play on "British Bulldogs"? Seriously are you just digging reasons out of your ass to say negative things about things and people that are associated with ROH? That's a rhetorical question, by the way. Of course that's what you're doing.
