They weren't ready for the traffic on NXT and I think that says a lot about where MLBAM thinks the WWE is as far as viewership. I don't think Main Event is a good way to stress test the Network before WrestleMania. The Hall of Fame feed will be a huge deal though. That's going to have a lot of fans watching and should be a good indication of how many problems we'll have come Sunday.
I don't think I'm renewing after the six months. I have most of this stuff on DVD and while it's nice to be able to click and go from one show to the other, I'm not too lazy that I won't just get up and switch DVDs and frankly, I don't love the current product enough to give a shit about the PPVs that come with the package. I also don't like the non PPV VOD selection which again goes back to me building up the DVD collection that I have. For guys like me, it's paying $10 for the convenience of not having to switch out discs and is that really a good enough reason to pay that money?

I love the Network. Granted, I'm just watching old WWE Raws, WCCW and NXT for the most part. They're going to open that library up more as time goes on and honestly $10 isn't going to effect my life either way.

I love the Network. I can't just pay attention to one thing at a time so it works great to have a random PPV going on the IPad app while I'm watching a baseball game on the TV. If they manage to fuck up PPV after PPV then I might change my mind. I'm not a big fan of the current product but if I'm paying 9.99 for the library might as well watch the PPVs.
I think they made a mistake having Mania be the first PPV for this. They should have test ran this with a couple PPVs first. They also better make Mania able to be watched almost immediately on PPV. If they fuck things up I have no problem avoiding checking the results if I can watch the PPV on demand the next day.

It seems like the actual PPVs are going up on a delay. They waited until after the Rumble came out on DVD to put it on the Network and it seems like they're doing the same for the Chamber.

Don't kno when Chamber went for sale but it's been on the network for about a week now. I understand them doing that but I would hope they give like 24 hours of free replay before they yank it for a month or two. I could live with that.

The FAQ on the Network said that replays for stuff aired on there will be up immediately following the event. Anyone know how long it took them to get NXT ArRival up?

NXT Arrival was the next day... but that's also not an event they're selling a DVD for, and they had the glitch during the main event.

AS far as the '1 million subs to break even' thing, people seem to be assuming that the PPV revenue will drop to 0.. .that's probably not the case... they'll still get SOME buys. That'll make the number less.
I think the real test is not how many people are there now, but how many people renew after the initial 6 months.

AS far as the '1 million subs to break even' thing people seem to be assuming that the PPV revenue will drop to 0.. . No, that's not what they're thinking. WWE pretty much stated they need 3 million subs by years' end to break even on the Network and that they were hoping for 1 million subs on day one, or at least leading into WrestleMania itself. By everything I've read, they aren't even close to 1 million subs and at this rate, that goal of 3 million by year's end seems like a pipe dream. that's probably not the case... they'll still get SOME buys. That'll make the number less. And in the situation they're in with a lot of fans who would have bought the show migrating to the Network, who's left to buy the PPV? There are no mainstream draws this year unless you want to argue Brock. Rock was the reason the last three did 1,000,000 + on PPV. Every headliner this year save for Brock, Bryan and Wyatt were on WrestleMania XXVI and that did around 850,000 PPV buys. That's a lot of PPV buys. Now take 400-450,000 off of that. That's the estimated Network subscriber base based off of what I read this morning. That leaves 400-450,000 buying the PPV. Now, how many of them are casual fans who just want to see the megastars? They likely aren't going to spend $70 on Brock when they can spend $10 on Brock. There's no Rock, no Steve Austin (at least wrestling), what draw is there for the PPV audience this year to bring in a big enough number for them? They're far more concerned with how many people will be watching on the Network than they are PPV because that's where their business is headed going forward. I think the real test is not how many people are there now, but how many people renew after the initial 6 months. I think the real test is how many new people they can bring in by the end of the year when the service officially launches in Canada and the UK.

Hard though it is to believe, there are alot of people out there that don't have the means to use a streaming internet service... those are the ones who are paying for the PPV.
I'd imagine bars and Restaurants would be more likely to just buy the PPV, like they always do, than mess around with subscribing to the network.
I wouldn't be surprised to see 100K buys or more (10-20% of the usual)

I'm not sure 100k would be the lowest. I think when the number comes out we'll all be surprised one way or the other but I can't see WrestleMania getting below 250,000 on PPV but that's international. Domestic, it gets a lot tougher to call because of the Network. WWE have gone out of their way to show how easy it is to access the Network and while there are a lot of people who live in remote areas, a lot of them have access to decent internet and I'm willing to bet every one of those homes has at least one of the devices WWE Network is available on.
At this point, I'm more concerned with if MLBAM understands how many people are going to be logging on for WrestleMania than I am with how many people are paying the PPV price. They underestimated the interest in the VOD library, they underestimated the interest in NXT Arrival, I just don't want them to make that mistake again.

Asked the WWE Network help account on Twitter re: how soon WrestleMania will be up on VOD.
Ask WWE Network @askwwenetwork 8h
@prowreshero It will be made available immediately after it airs on the live feed. Please let us know if you have any problems! ^RG

Yeah, I saw that same thing said elsewhere. I just wonder if it'll remain up. I could see them having the replay up but still yank it after 12-24 hours until DVD is out.

Apparently they're going to keep it up. I'm not sure that's the best idea given that everything they're going to put on the Collector's Edition DVD and Blu Ray will be available on the Network.

They reported on LoP yesterday that you'll be able to start at the beginning of the event whenever you get on... that'd be nice if it's true I suspect the VOD vs. DVD thing is probably an test, if DVD sales are alot less, I'm sure the next PPV won't stay on there.
