Eric Young. Yes, you read that right. Wow, TNA is dumb.

I do wonder why TNA hates Joe. I mean, I never liked him as much as some people did back in his RoH heyday, bu t boy has he ever been crapped on. Why does he stay? Seems like going back to RoH for a nostalgia run, or going to Japan would be alot better for him.

I'm guessing the money he makes vs. the amount of work needed is hard to let go of.

Seems like going back to RoH for a nostalgia run, or going to Japan would be alot better for him. He's locked into a contract until a little later this year. He'd likely not make as much in ROH and going to Japan right now as he is in TNA, but I think a run like that would do wonders for him. Look at how well AJ is doing from a performance standpoint. He's having the best matches he's had in years since leaving TNA.

There was a time, not all that long ago really, where I thought Eric Young could be for TNA what Mick Foley was to the Attitude Era in the WWF. The guy who overcomes being pigeon holed as a mid card comedy act and because he can connect with the fans rises to become an everyman sort of champion. Young is not a bad performer. He's got good psychology and buckets of charisma. In theory, this could work. But... It's transparently an attempt to copy Bryan. "Look! We have a plucky underdog with a beard as our champion too!" TNA continues to be a half assed WWE lite instead of a real alternative.

TNA continues to be a half assed WWE lite instead of a real alternative. Yep. It's a shame Sinclair won't pump enough money into ROH to make the product better because there's no chance Jarrett's promotion is a viable alternative. But with that said, I like the direction of current WWE (holy shit, I just said that) and I'm fine with TNA sinking deeper into the abyss. ROH is having the best shows they've had since at least 2010, New Japan are being morons right now but their product is good and WWE have serious momentum for the first time in God knows how long. It's a good time to be a wrestling fan, or at least a better time to be a fan than it has in several years.

I have a hard time trusting the WWE. Every time they get a good direction going and draw me in they manage to fuck it up.

I'm not putting Jarrett out to pasture just yet before he even gets off the ground. This could be good.

I'm not putting Jarrett out to pasture just yet before he even gets off the ground. This could be good. Given that he's the guy you can trace most of TNA's major failures back to (even indirectly in some cases), I have no optimism for the company at all.

The Jarrett Era of TNA is why I watched it. It was when Bischoff and Hogan showed up that things died a horrible death and now....oh man.

I'm actually really optimistic about Jarrett's new brand.

I think the key for Jarrett new promotion is a funding source that stays out of his way, and staying as far away from Russo, Bischoff, and any other old WCW people as possible. I think he can at least rival RoH if he does that.

Jarrett did run Ring Ka King which was a fun product. He also had access to the TNA roster and some decent guys not employed by TNA at the time. He doesn't have that luxury now.
