That's maybe the least shitty poster they've done in a year.

Though I do kind of feel like I'm looking at some kind of breast cancer awareness ad with all the shades of pink going on there.

Meh, feel like I've seen that match a lot this year. They need to get War Machine in there.

I'm starting to think it's gonna be Bad Influence vs. the Bucks at this show. Remember how last year, reDRagon lost the belts to the Hooligans right before ASE in Canada? I remember reading it was because apparently Bobby can't get into the country due to some felony assault charge or something like that. reDRagon are defending the belts against Bad Influence tonight at Field of Honor and I would not be shocked if they dropped the belts there.
Now that I think about it, wasn't Fish on Global Wars back in May? So that would shoot the whole "he can't get into Canada" thing right in the ass but I do remember reading last year that's why RD lost the belts to the Hooligans. Maybe they got whatever issue he had resolved. Still would not be shocked if RD lost the titles tonight either way.

Huge meh to the World Title match but Cole/AJ could be pretty good.

Awesome to see four big names we've done cards for in the past year headline this event (Elgin vs. Jay and Cole vs AJ). Both matches should be outstanding.

I know people like Jay but I have zero interest in the guy as a main event singles act.

I know people like Jay but I have zero interest in the guy as a main event singles act. I liked seeing him with the World Title, don't get me wrong, but as a singles guy he's never really done anything for me honestly. His style isn't intrenched in 2014 indie stupidity, so at least he has that going for him. Thar's part of what I like about him and always will. Throughout every major fad on the indies, the Briscoes have stayed the same. They've never went on to conform to whatever stupid new thing came around. I will say this, Briscoe is by far the less offensive act in that match. Jay does what Jay does, he doesn't focus on trying to do the same shit that everyone else on the indies does, like Elgin has for the better part of the last year. That said, I like Jay much more as a tag team wrestler. It's not a bad match on paper or anything, but it's just like you have AJ vs. Cole which is a huge match and reDRagon vs. Bucks in a rematch of the consensus ROH MOTY...and you're going to have that as the main event? But that's the big problem with ROH, the booking is so lukewarm the last couple of years since Delirious got the run of things. The in-ring action largely delivers but the booking is just not there. It's much better than Smokey Mountain of Honor, but it's still a long ways away from what it was even at the end of Pearce's run. ...and saying that makes me wish Pearce was being brought back as booker as opposed to as a member of the roster.

It feels like Delirious doesn't know how to follow up big shows. It feels like they get some buzz with a show, do nothing for a month and then try to build the next show from scratch.

Maybe I don't know any better but I like the main event. Two of my favorites. I like Jay in tag and singles. One of my favorites in any fed. Elgin is obviously the man. Considering the current roster, there aren't many match ups bigger than this one right now. Didn't Elgin win the belt during the time Jay got injured? Maybe I'm remembering wrong but it seems like a huge match to me. Former champ who got hurt vs. the guy who swooped in and took his belt.

Elgin just won the belt in June and Jay Briscoe had been back since at least early November at that point. Briscoe and Elgin challenged Cole for the title at Final Battle last year. Plus, Briscoe challenged Cole at Supercard of Honor in a ladder war. It's not really "Former champ who got hurt vs. the guy who swooped in and took his belt" at all so much as it's "we're feeding the whole roster to Elgin because we want him to be the first guy since Nigel to come close to Danielson's defense record." So far, it's working.
It's a fine main event for an iPPV, but it's nowhere near as big of a match as AJ vs. Cole.
EDIT: Just looked it up and Jay had his first match at Golden Dream in Cincinnati last November. He beat Steen to get added into the Final Battle main event with Elgin and Cole.
Decade vs. Bad Influence added to the card.

But didn't they have the tournament because Jay got hurt? Cole won then Elgin got it from Cole? I know they had that triple threat, and Jay lost to Cole but I don't recall Jay and Elgin ever going one on one. I can't imagine this match not being awesome.

I know they had that triple threat, and Jay lost to Cole but I don't recall Jay and Elgin ever going one on one. I can't imagine this match not being awesome. The tournament was because Jay got hurt, but Briscoe had his shot at the guy who took the belt while he was hurt when he challenged Adam Cole at Supercard oF Honor. It's really more about Elgin needs an opponent, Jay wasn't pinned at Field of Honor (and hasn't been since November) and it's a match you can slot in the main event because it's two big stars for the title. There's nothing wrong with it from that perspective. I'm just saying that I don't have any interest in the match as a guy who's watched a lot of Michael Elgin over the last year and I've grown tired of how ever since he went to PWG he's slowly went from the really awesome dude who was unique to doing the same shit as everyone else plus a ton of moves that you see big stars doing on TV or in New Japan. He's not unique anymore. Jay Briscoe's great and can work with really shitty guys and make them look good but that's not even the problem. The problem is the mindset that guys like Elgin have when putting matches together. It probably won't be bad or anything like that, it's just not something I want to see. I'm much more interested in the other announced matches, two of which haven't happened before.
