Why hasn't Charlotte incorporated the corner flip?

Just noticed the Halloween Havoc logos in the ring apron.... The H's are the WWF scratch logos, basically. Oh, and Buff wins the first blood match. Then Luger comes out and celebrated with Bagwell. Then turns on him. Runs buff into the post, which busts buff open... Allowing Flair to collect the DNA sample... Cause... Hell, I don't even know.

Cruiserweight champion, WCW Commissioner, and Brad Maddox prototype Mike Sanders comes out with Perfect Event... With boxing gloves. This can't go well. And here's Ernest "The Cat" Miller to prove me right. I guess it's a kickboxing match?

The Cat's corner consists only of a woman they refer to as "Miss Jones"... I watched WCW regularly at this time, and I have no recollection of this woman...

Okay, here's how this match is structured: two minute rounds, Cat hits Sanders, Sanders falls down, forty seconds tick off the match clock in the corner, but some how the referee only counts to eight, Sanders gets up, repeat, bell sounds to end round.

Round three, and Douglas is out... I'm sure he's an impartial observer.

Nope Douglas nails Miller with a chain. Miller beats the count, then goes out of the ring, keep in mind this is after the bell sounded for the end of the round, and brawls with Douglas. Miller gets counted out of the ring. That's right, the kickboxing match ends in a count out.

Up next its Mike Awesome vs Vampiro. This may be the only appearance of Mike Awesome in this rewatch, and it's him in his "that 70's Guy" persona. It's amazing to me still how badly WCW bungled Mike Awesome between That 70's Guy and Fat Chick Thriller. As for Vampiro, I will just say I never really got Vampiro.

They are fighting all over the arena, and an idiot fan jumps on Awesome. Awesome potatoes the guy once before security jumps on him. Apparently drunken fan involvement is as big a Halloween Havoc tradition as the doppelgänger spot.

I have a list of spots which I hate in wrestling. Near the top, though not at the top, is the lightsaber duel with steel chairs.

Awesome wins with the Awesome Bomb from the top rope. It's an amazing spot. How is it possible that all they could come up with for this guy was a couple of mid card comedy gimmicks?!?!

US title match next. General Rection (fuck you, Russo) vs Lance Storm and Canadian turncoat Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Storm is accompanied by future porn star Major Gunns.

Apparently this was during the time when Gunns was an unwilling member of Team Canada. Not a big fan of the women wagered like property angle either...

Rection pins Duggan to win Storm's title. Watching this match, all I can think about is how this is the guy the WWE is basically entrusting the future of the industry to.

Sting/Jarrett is up next, featuring the second Halloween Havoc Sting hoax.
