So I finally sat down to watch this. I really enjoyed it. I started with episode 1 on Dailymotion.
The Good:
The production value is great. You feel like you're watching something completely new and different right from the start. I like how the backstage stuff is shot like a TV show.
Pretty good wrestling. Chavo vs. Blue Demon Jr. was fun and Morrison/Puma was also a fun match.
It's good to see Konnan back on TV.
The back story is really well thought out. I like this eccentric millionaire creating his own promotion and treating it like his own toy.
The Bad:
Striker and Vampiro absolutely suck ass on commentary.
Sexy Star. I hate men vs. women matches and there's going to be plenty of it with her. Her match was short and she can bump well but I have no interest in anything she's involved with.
Chavo again? Really?
The crowd was annoying. They were trying to hard with the chants and stuff.
Overall a good show. My wife even commented how much she liked it and she's not really a big wrestling fan or anything. I'm looking forward to checking out episode 2.

It's good to see Konnan back on TV. Said nobody ever. Until now, I guess.

I liked episode 1 a lot but the intergender stuff doesn't really do it for me.

It's the fucking worst. All it does is make the male talent look bad. I don't even know anyone that likes the intergender stuff. I guess they're just trying to draw in the perv demo that dominates the crowds for women's feds.

I was Googling it so I could tell a friend what Network to look for and the first thing that popped up was an article about how Jim Cornette refuses to watch it because why would he stray from his gimmick at this point?

Seriously, it's the new fad on the indies and I don't get why people like it so much. I don't get how watching a guy pretend to beat up a woman is some progressive new take on pro wrestling, I really don't. At least Evolve are trying to be the new cool kids and have cards with actual wrestling matches on them instead of being PWG-lite like they were trying to be for a while. That's some shit I'd like to see become the new 'it' thing. People actually wrestling.

Because if he strays from that gimmick, he loses the one thing he has that generates money.

I know, man. Why should I expect actual wrestling when I can see shit that looks like it came out of a goddamn video game being done to cover up the fact that the guys in said exhibition of crazy shit can't tell any other story than "see all the shit we can do?!"
God, I've finally become a grumpy old man. You kids and your goddamn PWG, I'm gonna go back to watching UWFi and NOAH main events.

Also, forgot to mention this: the Aztec Warfare (Royal Rumble) match was fucking great.

I had that moment many years ago. I don't mind a good spotfest but Jesus every fucking match? The problem with intergender is most of the women can't keep up. Heidi Lovelace is an absolute disaster in Chikara and they keep pushing her. Sara Del Rey could pull it off sometimes with the right opponent but she's a special talent. It just isn't comfortable to watch. It's like they're intentionally marketing that shit to guys that have women issues.
Also, they need to get that mask off Ricochet. He's got no charisma with it on.

I saw her wrestle 6'5, 290 pound Rickey Shane Page...and she beat him AND it wasn't a fluke win. Just...why? Totally unrelated but Kawada vs. Misawa from the first All Japan Tokyo Dome show in 1998 was awesome but was also everything wrong with the All Japan head drop style. It just got more and more idiotic as the decade went on. The first half, it was stuff done to further the story of the match and show how tough the guys were. By late 1997, they were doing it because it's the only thing the crowd would react to.

It's honestly embarrassing watching Heidi in there with men. They have to dumb it down so much that they just look like shitty wrestlers.

And yes I am pissed that Chikara jobbed Missile Assault Ant to Heidi Lovelace and have her as the Young Lions Cup holder.
