Dr Jerry Graham and Waldo Von Erich come out and demand to face the LWA World tag champs, Half-A-Ton, in their non-title match on Thanksgiving night. Graham says Haystacks Calhoun has been an enemy of his since way, way back. Graham says that me and WVE will chop the big buffoons down to size. Graham says he’s going to make Calhoun bleed and Gorilla Monsoon will just be collateral damage.1. The Grappler def. Big RedThe Grappler is impressive in this short match as he finishes Big Red off with an European Cravat in under 4-minutes. 2. Dr Jerry Graham def. George SouthGeorge South showed a lot of heart in this match as he was able to sustain a good deal of offense. However, George misses a turnbuckle charge and Graham capitalizes by pinning South with an assist from the ring ropes. 3. Akira Maeda/Toru Tanaka def. Cactus Jack/Jerry BriscoGreat tag match as both Maeda and Jack sustained an impressive amount of punishment from each other. Both were bloody by matches end that finished when Tanaka throws salt in Brisco’s eyes and rolls him up for the win. -Larry Matysik interviews ‘Gentleman’ Tom Jenkins before his match. Again, Jenkins complains about the caliber of today’s wrestlers. He mentions the man he faces in his next match, Argentina Apollo; saying he’s watched some of Apollo’s matches and all the man does is flop around like a fish. Apollo doesn’t stand a chance against a ‘shooter’ the caliber of a Tom Jenkins.
Matysik mentions that Cactus Jack has expressed interest in trying to prove a point to Jenkins by breaking the grinding crossface. Jenkins says let ‘the cretin’ try but he will never succeed. Jenkins goes onto issue the challenge to Cactus Jack for next week’s show.4. ‘Gentleman’ Tom Jenkins cor Argentina ApolloJenkins already disgusted with Apollo from the onset, eats a cross body block as soon as he gets in the ring. This throws Jenkins off his game early in the match. Jenkins fires back and again uses his slams and throws to wear down an opponent. Jenkins uses his belly-to-back crotchlift suplex to dump Apollo to the ballroom floor. Jenkins then slams Apollo into the security railing with a double leg pickup and slam. Apollo clutches his back as the referee makes the 10-count, giving Jenkins his second countout victory in as many weeks. 5. Bob Sweetan/Ted Arcidi def. Rocky Johnson/Red BastienThe two powerhouses have their way with their quicker foes. Johnson/Bastien can’t get anything going as Sweetan finishes Johnson off with the Piledriver. 6. David Von Erich def. Waldo Von ErichAnother one of the famed Von Erich boys roll into town. This time it’s David in town to face his ‘namesake’ uncle. Waldo has been talking all week around town how he’s going to send David back to Fritz bruised and busted up. In the beginning of the match, it looked like Waldo was going to do just that. However, with the crowd chanting his name, David fought his way back to earn a hard fought victory with the Iron Claw. 7. Bruno Sammartino def. Ken Patera to win the Best of 3 Series, 2-0Bruno comes out on fire and makes short work of his foe, Ken Patera. Bruno hits two quick Backbreakers to get the win. Bruno moves on to face Bob Sweetan for the Missouri title on Thanksgiving night. -Afterwards, Rikidozan comes out with his interpreter and demands Ken Patera pay for his misdeeds. Obviously, Patera is the culprit who signed Dozan’s no-wrestle orders. Patera rolls out of the ring but is caught by the irate Dozan. Dozan blasts Patera with his Thunderous Chops that sends Patera careening head first into the ringpost. An upset and bloody Ken Patera grabs the house mike and challenges Dozan to a match on the Thanksgiving Night card.

Nice show. If they meet again, don't forget that David Von Erich ran Waldo out of PCW after their feud last year.

SLWC presents ‘Wrestling At The Chase’ Chase-Plaza Hotel; St Louis, Mo; 20 Nov 2008 1. Rocky Johnson def. George SouthRocky takes care of business by making short work of George South. Rocky uses a swinging neckbreaker for the finish. 2. The Grappler def. Argentina ApolloApollo is looking for this to be a tune-up going into the Super J Cup in two days. What Apollo got was a beating as Grappler dominated for a majority of the match. Grappler uses his Swinging Neckbreaker to finish off Apollo. 3. Dr Jerry Graham/Waldo Von Erich def. Red Bastien/Charlie CookGraham and Waldo declared this match as a warm-up for their non-title match-up against the LWA World tag titlists. Graham/WVE had their way with Bastien/Cook and beat them to a pulp. Cook ends up eating the pinfall after WVE brings the Blitzkreig raining down on Cook. -Akira Maeda comes out with his interpreter before his match and tells the crowd that he respects the fact that Cactus Jack can absorb tremendous amounts of punishment. Maeda says he wants to challenge himself and then challenges Jack to a Last Man Standing match next week.4. Akira Maeda def. Jerry BriscoJerry gave Maeda all he could handle but soon fell to Maeda’s kicks and submission holds. Maeda sends Brisco to the floor with the Dragon Suplex. After hauling Brisco back into the ring, a second Maeda Dragon Suplex keeps Brisco down for the pinfall. -Larry Matysik brings out his favorite person to interview, ‘Gentleman’ Tom Jenkins. Matysik asks if Jenkins is ready for his Grinding Facelock Challenge. Jenkins responds that he was born ready and that ‘hardcore cretin’ Cactus Jack is going to suffer nothing but pain and humiliation.5. Cactus Jack was unable to break ‘Gentleman’ Tom Jenkins Grinding Facelock ChallengeJenkins locked the hold in and Cactus Jack fought for awhile. Cactus looked like he was about to break the hold but Akira Maeda was out to distract Cactus. Jenkins cinched in the hold even tighter but Jack fought the hold even more. Jack looked to be about to break the hold again when Maeda blasted Jack with a pair of brass knuckles. The referee checks on Jack and sees an unconscious Jack, calling for the bell to end the Challenge. 6. Bob Sweetan/Ken Patera/Ted Arcidi def. Rikidozan/Bill Watts/Bruno SammartinoBruno comes out on fire and basically manhandles all three of his opponents. Rikidozan then comes in and handles Ken Patera and nearly puts him away with his Thunderous Chops. Bill Watts comes in and continues the beatdowns. However, Watts goes to tag Bruno but bashes him with his cowboy boot. Watts nails Dozan as well and the heels pounce. Watts keeps up the attack on Bruno as Sammartino is bleeding profusely. Sweetan finally ends the slaughter with his Piledriver on Bruno. -Afterwards, as Bruno and Rikidozan are carried out of the ballroom, Bob Sweetan pulls an envelope stuffed with lots of cash out of his ring jacket and hands it to Bill Watts. Sweetan riles up the crowd even more by taunting them with how he’s gonna beat Bruno up and keep the Missouri title next week.

SLWC presents ‘Thanksgiving in the Gateway City’ Scottrade Center; St Louis, Mo; 27 Nov 2008 1. Red Bastien def. Toru TanakaBastien ran circles around the ‘Professor’ in the opening bout. Tanaka tried to take the match to the floor but misses a ringpost splash. Bastien seizes the advantage and puts Tanaka away with the Atomic Drop. 2. The Grappler def. Argentina ApolloApollo hasn’t fared well this month and was looking to get even for his loss to the Grappler last week. Grappler started the match strong and almost ended it early with his Swinging Neckbreaker. Grappler misses a running shoulder tackle allowing Apollo to come back to almost win the match with a diving headbutt. The match goes to the floor where Grappler sends Apollo into the security railing. Grappler suplexes Apollo back into the ring and gets the pin with his feet on the ropes. 3. Ted Arcidi def. Rocky JohnsonArcidi controlled the match with power moves to keep the quicker Rocky Johnson down. Arcidi rams Johnson into the turnbuckle back first and locks on the Bearhug for the win. Arcidi has positioned himself for a title shot against the Missouri champ in the near future. 4. ‘Gentlemen’ Tom Jenkins def. Mr WrestlingJenkins was on a mission as he was feeling some pressure from the fans for not having a pinfall/submission win since entering SLWC full time. That small streak ended tonight as he put away Mr Wrestling with a Grinding Facelock in a rather easy match. Afterwards, Mr Wrestling announced he was leaving St Louis at the end of the month and thanked the fans for their support. However, an unmoved Jenkins, dumped Mr Wrestling to the outside with his belly-to-back crotchlift suplex. 5. Cactus Jack def. Akira Maeda in a Last Man Standing matchPerhaps the two toughest wrestlers in St Louis battle each other until only one man is able to walk away. Both come into the match with a mutual respect for the other’s toughness. Akira Maeda comes out on fire and soon had Cactus Jack in a bad way. Maeda uses his kick and suplex offense to set-up the Dragon Suplex to get a pinfall. However, Cactus is able to get to his feet at the 13-second mark. Maeda again goes on the attack and drives Cactus into the canvas with another Dragon Suplex for a second pinfall. Somehow Cactus is up at the 11-second mark and the match continues. Cactus is able to gain some momentum and soon is wailing away on Maeda. The match goes to the floor where Cactus bloodies Maeda with a chair shot and follow with the Double Arm DDT for the pinfall. Maeda takes his time and gets to his feet at the count of 17 to continue the match. Cactus maintains his momentum and smashes Maeda with a Tree of Woe diving elbow. Again, Cactus follows with another Double Arm DDT for his second pinfall. Somehow Maeda is able to channel his inner warrior and rises at the count of 18. Cactus charges in but Maeda has dug a foreign object out of his boot and clocks Cactus with it. Maeda is able to keep Cactus down with his third Dragon Suplex of the night. However, as the crowd cheers him on Cactus is able to get to his feet to continue the match. With the crowd firmly behind him, Cactus mounts a comeback and plants Maeda with another Double Arm DDT for his third pinfall. But again, Maeda is able to get to his feet just in time to continue the match. Maeda is able to dodge Cactus but misses a turnbuckle charge that sends him to the arena floor. Cactus follows with a somersault leap onto the prone Maeda. Cactus drags Maeda to his feet and plants him through a table with the Double Arm DDT for the pinfall. The referee starts his count and continues counting as the crowd counts along with him. Finally, the ref hits 20 and calls for the bell and raises Cactus Jack’s arm in victory. Afterwards, Maeda had to be carried to the back and was sent to a local hospital for an evaluation. *Note: I used the Last Man Standing match by Sheila posted in the COTG Open Source threads.6. Rikidozan cor Ken Patera in a Grudge MatchRikidozan wanted this match bad as he’s proclaimed his intentions to hurt Ken Patera. Patera wants to use this match to climb back into the title picture. Even match between both wrestlers for a majority of the match. Patera turned the tide to his favor with his power moves and scored several nearfalls with his Olympic Press Slam. Dozan fights back as he rebounds off the ropes and chops Patera down to size. Patera survives two painful Hiplocks by Dozan but is sent to the floor by several of Dozan’s overhead chops. Dozan sends Patera into the ringpost before lifting Patera up for a crushing piledriver on the arena floor to set-up the finish. Patera was half-carried, half-dragged to the back by Ted Arcidi. Afterwards, Rikidozan apologized through his interpreter to the fans saying the match ending was not honorable to the fans. However, he said he doesn’t apologize to Ken Patera and wants another match with Patera to settle the score. 7. LWA World tag champs, Half-A-Ton def. Dr Jerry Graham/Waldo Von Erich in a non-title matchThe LWA World tag champs look solid coming into this match as they’ve held tag team gold for an incredible 10 months with almost the last six as World champs. Jerry Graham and Waldo Von Erich come in looking to back up the smack they’ve been talking in the past few weeks. The match was a great bout with the crowd heavily involved as they cheered the champs on. Graham/WVE took exception to this and got distracted several times when they had the advantage leading to counters by Monsoon/Calhoun. The SLWC pair brandished their weapons to turn the tide in their favor and bloodied Calhoun in the process. Waldo went up top and landed a huge Blitzkreig but again the crowd distracted him and when he went for the cover, Calhoun was able to power out at a two count. Calhoun would fight his way back though and make the tag to Monsoon, who came in looking for a fight. Graham tried to run away from Monsoon but soon found himself looking up at the lights after a Monsoon Airplane Spin and Slam. Waldo tried to make the save but was cut off by Calhoun; giving the World champs the win. 8. Bruno Sammartino def. Bob Sweetan to win the Missouri title in a Best 2/3 match 2-0Bruno looks to make Sweetan pay for last week’s treachery and wants to badly take the Missouri title away from Sweetan. Bruno comes out and manhandles Sweetan in the first fall. Five minutes into the match and Bruno is up 1-0 after catching Sweetan with the Backbreaker. Sweetan looked better in the second fall but that’s not saying much as he couldn’t string together enough offense to mount a series challenge to Bruno. Bruno locks in the Bearhug and in desperation, Sweetan starts raking Bruno’s eyes. Bruno runs Sweetan into the turnbuckles back first and tightens the Bearhug even tighter. The referee sensing Sweetan was in risk of serious injury calls for the bell; giving Bruno the fall, the match, and the Missouri title.
