I really got the impression there would be a lot more details behind the selection mechanism for Zorba and Delicatessan. I could've sworn I read somewhere that the book would delineate the criteria each looks for when drafting, which implied (to me) it would be more than "Person A goes on his gu instinct. Person B likes brunettes."
But what do I know?

I definitely would have liked to see something more about the two aliens.. they're controlling about half the roster, you'd think that would be worth a paragraph or two of bio.
The upside, of course is you can do whatever you want, but I always like to have a base to go off and do whatever I want off, which isn't really there.

For reviews of GWF sets, I look at the three boards and say:
This one - pretty honest, maybe somewhat biased since it's leaned towards Legends, but basically honest reviews
the official - again pretty honest, but some may hold back some for fear of being banned and jumped by a king, queen and jester
other one - for honest review of a GWF, don't go there

I take that as a compliment. I noticed slightly more critism of the set is being allowed over there than usual, actually, which is good, but on the other side that means that some of us I guess are just persona non grata over there, which I think I can live with Just a quick thought I had about the infinity challenge, I noticed alot of people are posting that they're picking the teams randomly, or trying to keep them even... that tells me the two aliens don't have strong enough personalities...I think, ideally, the guys should jump off the page, and pick themselves. I think with a little more about the aliens, they'd do that.

I have been very happy with the discussion on both sides (besides those who are childish and just want to rub things in the other side's face) on the official board.

The main thing I've noticed on the main board is the LACK of discussion... there hasn't been a whole lot, even compared to the last couple sets.
I'd say it was because no everyone has it, but there's enough info out there, (and enough people that bought online, I'd think) to generate a bit more than there's been.
Of course, with the much smaller booklet, there's not a whole lot to talk about.

The more I read people's reviews/opinions on this set, it seems like it's a 'throwaway' set with the big thing being that it's the first color set. I could be wrong and have been wrong before but I haven't really seen anyone post that this set really blew them away...other than the supposed 'Inner Circle.' I'm not at 2125 yet but generally buy the sets to have them when I do get caught up.
I may wait and see what happens with the 2126 set before buying the 2125 set.

I agree 100%... Unless the infinity challenge is the lead in to something along the lines of the Cosmic Battle, either Tom phoned this one in since he figured the color would sell it no matter what, or he has no idea yet what to do with the Drury story and is playing for time.

I have some time since I'm only in 2122 but what I've seen from 2123/2124/2125 hasn't really inspired me to continue playing through those years though I've never been a 'by the book' promoter. I've kicked around the idea of starting from the beginning with Early Classics.

So I just noticed they posted a list of finishers for all the active guys.. man, do we need some variety!!
There's 3 guys that do some version of a Pedigree (Tanck, Havoc, Coven Black) 3 that do versions of mist to the eyes (Nosefra, Bishop Hell, Tricks), and.. 6 with the figure four (Encubus, Endgame, Mantis, Retribution, Thantos, Zygon)
Then there's Oracle, who has a 'flying forearm uppercut from the top rope'.. that doesn't make ANY sense at all.. and UPPERcut delivered while falling DOWN (as in jumping off the top) would have no power behind it... you'd be fighting gravity!

I bet Tom didn't even realize that6 guys had figure four leglocks- you tend not to notice that stuff until physically laid out, like that list.

Probably so... I wouldn't have thought of it if I didn't see it like that.
Same with the Pedigrees (or, Double Underhook DDT/Face Slam however you want to describe it without calling it the Pedigree)

Coven Black Oracle may be a vampire wrestler but just because vampire wrestler stories/legends on Earth say they can't be in the sun hit an uppercut while falling down, that has NO bearing on this character. He's from Draco Vega. It's real easy to me to grasp that, but it seems like it's hard for others to understand. This fed takes place over 100 years in the future and these characters are from all over the galaxy.

That's awesome! I didn't realize Vegans could reverse gravity! STRONG! Antimony is indeed a hero among men.
