The following is a joint news release from Filsinger Games and CHIKARA:
Filsinger Games and CHIKARA are proud to announce they are teaming up on all-new game featuring popular CHIKARA wrestlers. The game is scheduled for release in summer, 2011.
CHIKARA is one of the most popular wrestling federations in the United States featuring a variety of colorful and exciting wrestlers. The style of CHIKARA is perfectly suited for Filsinger Games, a company that for decades has released popular wrestling games like Champions of the Galaxy and Legends of Wrestling Card Game.
The all-CHIKARA game will be an exciting new venture for both companies. "It's a match made in game and wrestling heaven," said owner Tom Filsinger. "Any CHIKARA fan, or in fact any wrestling or game fan, will love it!"
The CHIKARA game is scheduled for release in July, 2011. Players will be able to run their own CHIKARA federation with the most popular stars at their fingertips. Playing cards will be drawn by artist Werner Mueck who has contributed many drawings for Filsinger Games over the years.
Looks like the cards are going to be in color

Pretty cool! I am always supportive of MORE LOW/LOTF cards.

I love Chikara and think this a big move to get more exposure for Filsinger Games and Legends but on the other hand I'm sad that we're not going to see a regular LOTF release this year. I have a feeling this set are guys we already have in the game with new colored art. Since it's a Chikara set I could see new rules and special matches along with the cards. It leaves a lot of questions like is this a one shot deal or are they planning more Chikara releases with new cards and what's going to happen to regular LOTF releases. If this is successful maybe we'll no longer see regular LOTF releases but other exclusive sets like ROH and PWG who knows

FYI I tried to ask some of the above questions in the big announcement thread but it seems it's been locked and no more replies are allowed. You've got to me kidding me

It's good for FG to have a link with Chikara and that they will get more exposure and this gives those fans something new to toy with...
I'm not into Chikara but do like several of it's talent, but I don't see me buying the new game...
I'm very happy with the stuff I have in old CotG, LOW, Krazy Kards and other Bootlegs to keep me playing for years...
I wonder if and this is a guess that LotF either is combined with LOW releases or we get a Set in 2012...

Todd, the thread about this in the LOTF section of the FG board looks like it's open to comment. It can't all be retreads of previously released cards since I see Frightmare in the middle there. As I originally figured, I think it'll be remixed cards for Quackenbush, Jigsaw, and maybe Delirious and Ultramantis, and a host of new "Chikara brand" type characters (Hallowicked, Tursas, Stigma, etc). If it's meant to be a stand-alone deal for Chikara fans (as well as an "expansion" for regular players) I'd imagine something like a 24 card box set presentation.

I'll buy it as I buy all official FG stuff for my collection and to support Werner, but I probably won't play it as the LOTF stuff doesn't interest me as much as COTG and LOW. Now if it had was an all Kaiju Big Battel set...

These are the wrestlers currently in Chikara let me know If I've missed anyone or made any mistakes
1. Mike Quackenbush 2. Claudio Castagnoli 3. Eddie Kingston 4. Chuck Taylor 5. Brodie Lee 6. Ultramantis Black 7. Sara Del Rey 8. Daizee Haze 9. Ant Colony (3) 10. Gran Akuma 11. Icarus 12. Osirian Portal (2) 13. Jigsaw 14. Bruce Remsburg 15. Louden Noxious 16 Crossbones
That gives us 19 without including former Chikara wrestlers like Delerious and Chris Hero

A lot of those guys (and girls) wrestle for Chikara, but they're not really "Chikara wrestlers" if you know what I mean. I believe we'll be looking more for the Chikara grown type talent and characters; a lot of the ones you don't see on a lot of shows outside of Chikara and the ones created by Quackenbush and company.

I'm hoping we'll be getting Tim Donst in this set. Actually, thinking about it, what are the chances they make some guys stronger for this set? I'd like to think that Quack would get a stronger card for a set like this.

I like the art and new look, but undecided on whether I will purchase it. For me it will come down to the number of new guys that will be in this set and if any of those already in LOTF get updates.

Price will decide if I get it or not. All color, 24 cards...good chance I won't.

Actually, thinking about it, what are the chances they make some guys stronger for this set? I'd like to think that Quack would get a stronger card for a set like this. I'm guessing this will be the case. It looks like its a Chikara Special. Marketing it to the Chikara fans, I imagine they don't want the cards to be too weak. I'd bet there'll be some kind of special adjustment to the cards for the guys when they compete outside Chikara.
