An actual title reign! Exciting! Be great if the dice co-operate and you get another Gotch-Thesz match for the tile in a couple cards The Turk must have took a real beating in his title match, no matches for a couple cards!

UWFI "Battlefield" Card #13 - Pinnacle Bank Arena:
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: The Destroyer [USA] vs. Antonio Inoki [#6; JPN] - Destroyer turned in one of the most dominant performances in UWFI history here, pushing Inoki nearly to the time limit before Inoki's corner threw in the towel while Inoki was in the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. The Destroyer's sensational suplexes helped him nearly deplete Inoki's points en route to victory.
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Danny Hodge [USA] vs. Don Leo Jonathan [CAN] - There was one point in this contest that looked like Jonathan would end up losing and that was after a giant swing left both he and Hodge down but both were able to answer the ten count. Jonathan would put Hodge away with the MORMON SWING in the second one-sided beating of the night.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Satoru Sayama [#8; JPN] vs. Volk Han [RUS] - Sayama opened up big with a TIGER SUPLEX, but Han would ultimately wear the much quicker Sayama down, submitting him with the SLEEPER in an epic seven minute contest.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Ed Lewis [USA] vs. George Hackenschmidt [#9; RUS] - Lewis turned in his most impressive performance to date tonight as he rallied back from an early RUSSIAN BEAR HUG, completely controlling the contest until submitting Hackenschmidt with the STRANGLER HEADLOCK. Lewis told the press it felt good to get such a big win and thought it was enough for him to take Hack's place in the rankings.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Steve Williams [USA] vs. Johnny Saint [ENG] - Early on, Saint seemed to have the advantage due to his speed and technical skill but Williams dropped Saint with a backdrop driver followed up by an OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE to pick up a major statement win tonight.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Bryan Danielson [#10; USA] vs. Kazuo Yamazaki [#7; JPN] - It's a bad night to be a Japanese legend as Bryan Danielson silenced any potential doubters he may have had tonight as he put away Yamazaki in dominating fashion, submitting Yamazaki with a LEBELL LOCK after several GUILLOTINE CHOKES failed to put the Japanese legend down.
Special Single Match 1 Fall; 45 Minute Time Limit: William Muldoon [#4; USA] vs. Frank Gotch [#5; USA] - William Muldoon seemed set to prove the critics wrong and defeat Frank Gotch as he controlled 32 of the 36 minutes this match went, but Gotch would mount a comeback and submit the Solid Man out of nowhere with a rolling knee bar. Prior to the finish, Muldoon had dropped Gotch down to just TWO points while Gotch had taken Muldoon to seven points. After the match, Muldoon shook Gotch's hand and challenged him to a rematch.
[PROMO] War is Coming Before the semifinal began, the announcer told everyone to welcome the newest member of the UWFI roster--Josh Barnett! Barnett made his way out to a mixed reaction and thanked UWFI management for the opportunity. Barnett said that he would be debuting on the next show and that he wasn't here to play nice and make friends. "When I step into this ring, I'm here to do one thing and that's try to kill you. So to everyone in the UWFI, you're officially on notice: war is coming."
SEMI FINAL - Pro Wrestling World Championship Eliminator 1 Fall; 60 Minute Time Limit: Kiyoshi Tamura [#2; JPN] vs. Nobuhiko Takada [#3; JPN] - Takada absolutely mauled Tamura from the opening bell, dropping him seconds in with brutal body kicks. Takada would almost toy with his protege for several more minutes before locking in the JUJIGATAME and securing himself a championship match. Takada told the press that in a rematch, he's confident he can beat Gary Albright again but what Takada really wants is a match against his mentor, Lou Thesz.
MAIN EVENT - Pro Wrestling World Championship 1 Fall; 60 Minute Time Limit: Lou Thesz [CHAMPION; USA] vs. Gary Albright [CHALLENGER; USA] - In what may be the most shocking upset in the history of the UWFI, Gary Albright dominated Lou Thesz to become the World Champion. Early on, Albright landed a German suplex and from there, controlled the champion. Despite Thesz's best efforts to get anything going, Albright dropped him after a second FULL NELSON SUPLEX to win the championship in Nebraska. Albright told the press that he was happy to win the championship in Nebraska given his history in the state, setting the record for the most falls in one season. Albright thanked Thesz for the match and said Thesz is the greatest and could have a rematch whenever he wanted. When asked about Takada, Albright said he was going to avenge his first loss ever in the UWFI in devastating fashion. When asked about potential locales, Albright didn't have a specific location he favored. "If he wants it at Jingu [Stadium], we'll do it there. It doesn't matter to me."
THE OFFICIAL UWFI TOP 10 RANKINGS: #10. Kazuo Yamazaki #9. Antonio Inoki #8. The Destroyer #7. Kiyoshi Tamura #6. William Muldoon #5. Lou Thesz #4. Ed Lewis #3. Frank Gotch #2. Bryan Danielson #1. Nobuhiko Takada [Ch] Gary Albright

Thez's historic reign ends.
Excited to see what Barnett does.
Fed of the quarter for sure. Great stuff.

PRESHOW - UWFI "Fighting Spirit"
Jim Ross: "It's a hot summer night in Tokyo, Japan as we present to you the second UWFI Pay-Per-View offering! Hello everyone, I'm Jim Ross and tonight I'm joined not by Gordon Solie, but by a true legend of the fight game and I'm of course talking about 'The Predator' Don Frye. Don, it's a pleasure to have you here tonight and I've got to ask you one thing - you've been on a lot of major cards but have you ever seen anything like this tonight?"
Don Frye: "I can say with all honesty Jim, I have not. This stadium is starting to fill up with people, I'm told nearly 40,000 people will be here tonight. Absolutely incredible."
Ross: "It certainly is and of course we're in Japan and that's where the challenger in the main event hails from. Nobuhiko Takada is the protege of Lou Thesz and considered by many here in Japan to be the uncrowned champion. Tonight, he faces off with the 340 pound Gary Albright. Albright is a man who, Harley, defeated the greatest of all time in dominating fashion and people have deemed it a fluke."
Frye: "He beat him, didn't he? I watched the match, Thesz wasn't movin' after that second suplex. If that's a fluke, I wanna know what the hell some of these fans think a legitimate win is."
Ross: "And speaking of the champion, let's go to some comments recorded earlier today."
Gary Albright: "I think I beat Lou pretty good, I mean enough to silence the doubters. I was walking to the dressing room and I heard a woman shout 'that was a hoax! You could never beat Thesz!' I turned around and Lou's still on his back in the ring, they were trying to help him up. People were yelling things at me like I wasn't the real champion and all I could think was if I beat him so bad that his corner needs to help him up, why am I not the champion? I told everyone I'd give Lou an immediate rematch. The rankings are what they are but I want to prove that I can beat this guy and for me to do that, I have to beat Takada tonight. Takada's a great wrestler but he's even better with his hands and feet. I've gotta watch for those kicks because he's gonna use them to set up suplexes and he's gonna go for that armbar. I'm prepared, I don't think he's going to beat me."
Ross: "Don, that's a very confident champion but I've got to ask you - do you think Lou Thesz is weighing heavily on the mind of the champion?"
Frye: "Look, if he wants to stay the champion he can't think about anything but Takada. Takada idn't thinkin' about anything but kickin' Albright's ass and taking the belt. If Albright ain't thinkin' about doing the same to Takada, he's gonna be in trouble."
Ross: "Very well put, now let's talk about Thesz's match tonight because it's an interesting one. No doubt is a spot in the next eliminator on the line but he's taking on his mentor in Ed 'Strangler' Lewis. We talked about this before we went on the air, Don, but this is a huge match for Thesz."
Frye: "Yeah, he can't afford to lose here. After he dropped the strap the first time, he had a mini losing streak. He's gotta avoid that here and I know Ed is his mentor but Thesz is gonna have to look past that if his ultimate goal is getting the belt back. I think Lou's got what it takes to put Lewis down but the opposite is more than true as well. Should be a hell of a fight."
Ross: "And from there, the eliminator to determine the next challenger to the belt goes down. Frank Gotch vs. Bryan Danielson. Don, who do you like in this one?"
Frye: "Tough match because they're both skilled. Gotch is a former champion, he beat Hackenschmidt for the belt but he lost it to Thesz. Gotch is one of the best I've ever seen, but Danielson's a different creature. He might be a little quicker, a little more aggressive and it could make all the difference in the world. I'm gonna go with Gotch on this one."
Ross: "A match I know you're paying close attention to is Josh Barnett vs. Kiyoshi Tamura. Barnett said he wanted to take on a high ranked opponent so that his first win would slot him in the rankings. What can the fans expect from Josh Barnett?"
Frye: "Josh is a tough son of a bitch. He's one of my favorite people but he's also a real mean guy, he's gonna push little ol' Tamura around that ring and I guarantee you that Josh picks up a win tonight."
Ross: "Folks, you've only got a few moments left. Call your cable or satellite provider because this is the card of the century. Takada vs. Albright, Gotch vs. Danielson, Thesz vs. Lewis and the debut of Josh Barnett are just moments away on Pay-Per-View!"

UWFI "Fighting Spirit" Card #14 - Jingu Stadium:
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Steve Williams [USA] vs. Antonio Inoki [#9; JPN] - This one kicked off the night in front of a white hot crowd that witnessed Antonio Inoki completely dominate Williams as the match went to points after 15 minutes of action. Inoki took the decision 13-4 just as Williams was starting to build momentum. With this type of win, you'd have to imagine Inoki will shoot up the rankings because while it wasn't a short-type decisive win, it was certainly the most dominant points victory we've seen to this point.
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: The Destroyer [#8; USA] vs. George Hackenschmidt [RUS] - This started out as your regular Hackenschmidt match where you think he'll win and then ends up losing, but in the end Hack found a way to win at 6 minutes when Destroyer submitted to the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG. Destroyer had to be helped to the dressing room after the match, leading many to speculate about a serious injury.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Danny Hodge [USA] vs. Satoru Sayama [JPN] - This was the second bout of the night to go the distance and it was not lacking drama as Hodge clamped on a sleeper and kept wrenching at Sayama until the final bell. Unfortunately to Hodge, this went to points and Sayama took the match 13-2.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Fit Finlay [IRE] vs. Kazuo Yamazaki [JPN] - It took Finlay three minutes flat to defeat Yamazaki after Yamazaki recovered from a TOMBSTONE, Finlay put him away with the Rolling Hills. After the match, Finlay told the press that he wants to be inserted back into the rankings.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Dan Severn [USA] vs. Youssuf Ishmaelo [TUR] - Despite two early suplexes from Severn, Ishmaelo dominated this contest and put "The Beast" away via corner stoppage after a third camel backbreaker. The bout lasted just seven minutes and sent a clear message to the UWFI roster that the Turk has not lost a step and he's coming for the top ranking yet again.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: William Muldoon [#6; USA] vs. Volk Han [RUS] - Despite Volk Han trying to tear off every limb he had, Muldoon lived up to the moniker 'The Solid Man' by refusing to give up and mounting arguably the greatest comeback in UWFI history as he beat Han via the three knockdown rules after a third BODY LIFT AND SLAM.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Josh Barnett [USA] vs. Kiyoshi Tamura [#7; JPN] - This was unquestionably the most devastating debut in the history of UWFI as Barnett mauled Tamura from the opening bell, landing several suplexes in a row before putting Tamura down with SILENT DEATH. Barnett would not only beat Tamura via three knockdowns but would also deplete Tamura's points with a CAPTURE BUSTER to finish the match. Barnett challenged the winner and loser of Thesz and Ed Lewis after the match.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Ed Lewis [#4; USA] vs. Lou Thesz [#5; USA] - Knowing that a shot at becoming a three time champion was at stake, Thesz dominated his mentor Ed Lewis in a quick match, putting the Strangler down with a THESZ PRESS. Thesz told reporters he'd gladly face Josh Barnett in a match and that he's already begun preparing for a rematch with Gary Albright.
SEMI FINAL - Pro Wrestling World Championship Eliminator 1 Fall; 60 Minute Time Limit: Bryan Danielson [#2; USA] vs. Frank Gotch [#3; USA] - To perhaps the shock of the entire wrestling world, Gotch's offense would amount to two Iowa backdrops before Danielson took over and began tearing at the former world champion, submitting him with the third GUILLOTINE CHOKE of the match to earn the next shot at the Pro Wrestling World Championship.
MAIN EVENT - Pro Wrestling World Championship 1 Fall; 60 Minute Time Limit: Gary Albright [CHAMPION; USA] vs. Nobuhiko Takada [CHALLENGER; JPN] - If you were of the opinion that Albright was a fluke champion, you should take a look at this victory. Albright caught a hard kick from Takada, landed a brutal belly to belly suplex and then two FULL NELSON SUPLEXES to send Takada all the way back down the ladder and secure his first defense of the championship.
THE OFFICIAL UWFI TOP 10 RANKINGS: #10. Ed Lewis #9. Satoru Sayama #8. George Hackenschmidt #7. Youssuf Ishmaelo #6. Antonio Inoki #5. Frank Gotch #4. Josh Barnett #3. William Muldoon #2. Lou Thesz #1. Bryan Danielson [Ch] Gary Albright

UWFI "Root of Wrestling" Card #15 - Madison Square Garden:
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Steve Williams [USA] vs. Katsuyori Shibata [JPN] - Williams dominated Shibata from the offset, planting Shibata on the mat with a backdrop driver and putting him away for good with the Oklahoma Stampede.
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: The Destroyer [USA] vs. Nobuhiko Takada [JPN] - This was an epic battle between two former #1 ranked wrestlers that ended just shy of the time limit as Takada submitted Destroyer with a JUJIGATAME. Had this gone to points prior to the suplex that set up the JUJIGATAME, Takada would have won the match 8-7.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Fit Finlay [IRE] vs. Kiyoshi Tamura [JPN] - Usually in a Fit Finlay match that's one sided, it's Finlay dishing out the beating. Here, Tamura destroyed Finlay from the opening bell before knocking him out with a palm strike rush.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Antonio Inoki [#6; JPN] vs. Satoru Sayama [#10; JPN] - Inoki once again smashed the junior heavyweight legend, submitting him with the OCTOPUS HOLD following a brutal ENZUIGIRI. A win this decisive could stand to put Inoki into the next eliminator match. Inoki challenged Josh Barnett after the match.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Frank Gotch [#5; USA] vs. Volk Han [RUS] - In what was nothing short of a mat wrestling clinic, Gotch submitted Han with a GOTCH TOEHOLD after 18 minutes of thrilling mat wrestling exchanges. Gotch shook Han's hand after the match and it seems clear that Gotch will be in the next eliminator.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Dan Severn [USA] vs. George Hackenschmidt [#8; RUS] - For five minutes and nineteen seconds, Hackenschmidt picked "The Beast" apart before knocking him out with a wristlock suplex. Hackenschmidt told the press that he should be ranked #1 for defeating Severn in the manner he did and demanded to be given the next championship shot over Thesz and Muldoon.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Josh Barnett [#4; USA] vs. Youssuf Ishmaelo [#7; TUR] - The World's Most Famous Arena were on their feet but not in support of Barnett, option to cheer for the man deemed 'The Terrible Turk'. Turk started off impressively, knocking Barnett down and tearing at his neck but Barnett fought back with suplexes before cranking the big man's neck with SILENT DEATH to give himself yet another impressive victory. In the press interviews, Barnett said he gladly accepts Inoki's challenge and said he wants it as an eliminator because he feels that if he beats another former #1 ranked wrestler, he's good enough to challenge for the belt.
SEMI FINAL - Pro Wrestling World Championship Eliminator 1 Fall; 60 Minute Time Limit: Lou Thesz [#2; USA] vs. William Muldoon [#3; USA] - This was a phenomenal, if brief, match that only lasted 14 minutes of the hour long time limit. Thesz struggled early against "The Solid Man", who had the crowd in New York firmly behind him. Thesz would land a side saito followed by a GRECO ROMAN BACKDROP to knock Muldoon out and secure a chance to become a three time champion. Thesz told reporters that he's looking forward to facing Albright a second time to prove to everyone that the first match was a fluke. Thesz said that Albright is a good friend and a good wrestler, but he would never beat Thesz in a rematch. Thesz declined to talk about Danielson, only saying that Albright would have no trouble with him.
MAIN EVENT - Pro Wrestling World Championship 1 Fall; 60 Minute Time Limit: Gary Albright [CHAMPION; USA] vs. Bryan Danielson [CHALLENGER; USA] - Much to the chagrin of the fans who showed up in droves to chant "YES!" in support of Danielson, Gary Albright mauled the much smaller challenger with suplexes, not only depleting Danielson's points but actually winning via the three knockdown rule in the process. With this victory, the biggest rematch in UWFI history takes place on the very next card. When asked about the match, Albright said he would beat Thesz again to prove that he's the best wrestler in the world.
THE OFFICIAL UWFI TOP 10 RANKINGS: #10. Nobuhiko Takada #9. Youssuf Ishmaelo #8. Kiyoshi Tamura #7. Steve Williams #6. George Hackenschmidt #5. William Muldoon #4. Frank Gotch #3. Josh Barnett #2. Antonio Inoki #1. Lou Thesz [Ch] Gary Albright

PRESHOW - UWFI "The Rematch of the Century/世紀の再戦"
Jim Ross: "Tonight we will see the biggest rematch in the history of the UWFI as Gary Albright looks to make his third defense of the championship against the man he beat for the gold when he meets Lou Thesz. Hello everyone, I'm Jim Ross and we're at the Tokyo Dome as tonight we're here to find out if Albright was a one hit wonder, or if Thesz may be showing signs of wear. I'm joined at this time by a man who knows Thesz better than anyone in this business, Ed Lewis. Ed, this has to be the biggest match of Lou's career."
Ed Lewis: "I can't think of a bigger match for him, Jim. This loss has really eaten at Lou, he was determined to never lose the belt as you obviously would be when you're champion but I think he took Albright lightly. Lou had me in his corner and as a sparring partner for every match except for that one. He said to me in private that he didn't believe Albright to be a threat and he paid for it with this championship. Tonight, I think Lou will be sharper and more determined than ever and we'll see a new champion if that's the case."
Ross: "Will you be in Lou's corner tonight?"
Lewis: "I've not been asked."
Ross: "We'll leave it at that, in that case. Folks, that ain't the only big match we have for you tonight. In the eliminator, the number one contender's match we'll see Antonio Inoki take on 'The Warmaster' Josh Barnett. Ed, the last time we were in this building, Inoki failed to take the title from Frank Gotch. Can he secure a victory over Barnett here?"
Lewis: "I don't think so. Barnett tore through Tamura, I thought it was the most impressive performance anyone's ever had in this sport. Then, he rallied back and took down the Turk last time. This guy is something completely different than anything we've ever seen and I don't think anyone quite has an answer for him."
Ross: "So you're predicting Barnett vs. Thesz?"
Lewis: "That's where the smart money is, I think. But don't get me wrong, Gary Albright is very capable of a second victory over Lou. His suplexes, if they don't knock you out, are going to leave you with no points and I think tonight that might be Gary's plan. Drop Thesz on his head a few times and if he gets up, at least he's got a few less points to his credit."
Ross: "From there, we've got Frank Gotch taking on William Muldoon. Ed, these have been nothing short of incredible matches but tonight has eliminator implications. Does Gotch find himself in line for a title shot or does Muldoon finally beat Gotch?"
Lewis: "Tough call, both guys really want that title shot. Of course, Gotch wants a shot and is hoping Thesz is champion so he can beat Thesz to repay the two losses. Muldoon's a tough guy, I think tonight he pulls out the big win."
Ross: "Another big match we've got tonight pits Steve Williams vs. George Hackenschmidt. Hack is a guy who has fluctuated in the rankings and at one point defeated Thesz to become champion. Can he overcome the power advantage of Dr. Death?"
Lewis: "Without question, I think he's a better wrestler than Williams and tonight Hack will get a win and end up in the next eliminator. How great would that be - Gotch vs. Hack again? We've already seen three classics, I'd love to see them in another big match."
Ross: "I don't think you'll find any complaints whatsoever from the fans if that ends up being the case. Tonight is do or die for the Turk as he takes on The Destroyer. Ed, your thoughts on this match please."
Lewis: "Turk's a handful for anyone in this sport and Destroyer's a good wrestler. The problem is that Ishmaelo wrestles dirty. You can't really prepare for what he does, nobody can really emulate his style. He's a problem for anyone, he even posed a threat to Lou during his title reign. Tonight, I think the Turk picks up the win."
Ross: "With that said folks, it's just moments away. Albright vs. Thesz II, Inoki vs. Barnett, Muldoon vs. Gotch III, Williams vs. Hackenschmidt. This is the biggest night of matches in the history of this sport and the only way to be a part of it is to call your cable or satellite provider now!" (Or...just read the results I post. That is probably a better idea!)

UWFI "The Rematch of the Century/世紀の再戦" Card #16 - Tokyo Dome:
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Kazuo Yamazaki [JPN] vs. Katsuyori Shibata [JPN] - It looked like Shibata was primed to continue his losing streak until he blocked a kick from Yamazaki and hit a backdrop and followed up with a German Suplex to score the knockout victory.
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Danny Hodge [USA] vs. Owen Hart [CAN] - In what might be construed as an upset, Hart dominated Hodge from the opening bell. The match lasted just three minutes and Hart won after Hodge submitted to the SHARPSHOOTER.
Single Match 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Nobuhiko Takada [#10; JPN] vs. Fit Finlay [IRE] - Finlay was at one point the most dominant undercard performer in the UWFI. Here, Takada picked him apart with suplexes. After escaping the JUJIGATAME a second time, Finlay would be hit with a belly to belly suplex that brought his point total to 0 and gave Takada a major win that will boost him up the rankings.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Harley Race [USA] vs. Killer Kowalski [CAN] - Another short, one sided contest saw Harley deplete Kowalski's points with vertical and back suplexes before dropping his point total to zero with a PILEDRIVER. Race said that he's been gone for a while, but he's glad to be back and that he wanted to be put in the conversation when it comes to top contenders.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Nick Bockwinkel [USA] vs. Don Leo Jonathan [CAN] - The fans booed this match heavily as it was slow and plodding and didn't feature too much action from either side. Bockwinkel submitted Jonathan a minute shy of the time limit with the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER.
Single Match 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Jim Londos [GRC] vs. Volk Han [RUS] - The Japanese crowd showed Han their appreciation as he picked apart Londos. After several kneebars, Han locked in the SLEEPER to submit Londos in dominating fashion and potentially land himself in the top 10 rankings to close out the first half of an explosive show.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: The Destroyer [USA] vs. Youssuf Ishmaelo [#9; TUR] - The Turk was exactly what his opponent's name says as he destroyed the Destroyer with literally one move as he hit the falling body slam to put the Destroyer away in 27 seconds. Many had speculated what would become of Ishmaelo had he lost, but with this win he's almost certain to be in the next eliminator.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Kiyoshi Tamura [#8; JPN] vs. Satoru Sayama [JPN] - Tamura put on an impressive performance in arguably the most back and forth match the undercard of UWFI has ever seen. For nine minutes, these two junior heavyweight legends duked it out with both men scoring a knockdown. Tamura picked Sayama apart with choke holds and submissions, finally beating Sayama with the ARM BAR in a performance that will put him high in the rankings.
Single Match 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Steve Williams [#7; USA] vs. George Hackenschmidt [#6; RUS] - This night of spectacular finishes continued as Williams knocked Hackenschmidt out in 18 seconds with a lariat, Doc's first move of the match. On a night when so many wrestlers are winning in a way that would earn them spots in eliminators, this is going to make the championship committee's job even harder!
Special Single Match 1 Fall; 45 Minute Time Limit: Frank Gotch [#4; USA] vs. William Muldoon [#5; USA] - Yet another quick, spectacular finish in this match as Gotch ended this trilogy with a win via TKO due to injury as Muldoon was in the GOTCH TOEHOLD. Doctors rushed Muldoon to the dugouts and out of the stadium after the match, fearing that Muldoon's leg might be broken while Gotch celebrated in the ring.
SEMI FINAL - Pro Wrestling World Championship Eliminator 1 Fall; 60 Minute Time Limit: Antonio Inoki [#2; JPN] vs. Josh Barnett [#3; USA] - Any doubt about Josh Barnett's claim to being the number one contender was put to rest tonight as he suplexed Antonio Inoki into unconsciousness, winning the match in five minutes with the CAPTURE BUSTER. Barnett told the press that he's happy with either potential outcome in a championship match. He only cares about the title.
MAIN EVENT - Pro Wrestling World Championship 1 Fall; 60 Minute Time Limit: Gary Albright [CHAMPION; USA] vs. Lou Thesz [CHALLENGER; USA] - This match had some scary resemblances to the original meeting as Albright dominated Thesz early, but a stuffed takedown attempt lead to a THESZ PRESS and a GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP to once again give Lou Thesz the championship. After the match, Thesz refused to shake Albright's hand and told reporters that he felt Albright was an insult to the championship. When asked about Josh Barnett, Thesz said he's not even concerned with Barnett because Barnett is not an authentic wrestler. He's a cage fighter who thinks he's a wrestler.
THE OFFICIAL UWFI TOP 10 RANKINGS: #10. George Hackenschmidt #9. Antonio Inoki #8. Volk Han #7. Nobuhiko Takada #6. Gary Albright #5. Kiyoshi Tamura #4. Steve Williams #3. Youssuf Ishmaelo #2. Frank Gotch #1. Josh Barnett [Ch] Lou Thesz
