I was right. Checkmate is Tony Charles. So he legit came from World of Sport in the 70s.

The other thing I like on these old shows are the faces signing autographs at ringside. It's a cool visual.

Yeah, that was neat. The whole vibe is really cool, actually. I don't really think kayfabe could really work anymore, but I do wish there was a bit more of that sense of wonder still in wrestling today.

Yeah, that's true, I suppose. Following Chikara is a bit more of a monetary investment than I'm willing to make, though.... what I've seen is decent, but generally a bit too much for my tastes.

New episodes up. Wildfire check out some David Von Erich, he's heads and shoulders above his brothers.

I love how WCCW is so willing to highlight so many different styles on the shows.

Poor Checkmate and Magic Dragon are being wasted on Al Madril and Jose Lothario this time.

I take it back. This match rules.

I loved watching World Class back in the late 80s after I became a fan. They had some really fun characters until they started the slip and slide once Kerry got injured.

Nice! I do wonder at the randomness of the epsisodes they are posting, but glad to see a couple more. I wonder if it's a rights thing, or is someone is choosing them for content, or what.

I was thinking perhaps it could be like Jordan and Barkley for the NBA games... maybe some certain guy or two isn't covered by their blanket purchasing of the rights. If that's not it, I can't imagine why they'd jump around. Starting at a particular point and going forward, fine. Making it a 'greatest hits' sort thing and only doing a few? fine. Adding random ones a couple weeks apart but skipping a couple is totally head scratching to me.

They jumped around a lot with WWE 24/7 back in the day, if memory serves me correctly.

They will probably settle in after the Freebirds go heel.
