Interesting you say its not like you remember... is it just being jaded, or older, or knowing what happened?
I think the Bundy stuff has been my favorite angle so far. The Freebirds turn seems a little weird so far, but perhaps the next couple shows make it work. The 'Kerry Von Erich- Uncrowned champ' thing just seems a little too homer-ish for me, but that could be mostly because I really don't like him very much.

I grew up on WCCW. I can't go back and watch it now. I would think that would make you MORE want to watch it... You ever go back to your childhood home and find that your backyard wasn't as big as you remember? Or find the girl you had a crush on in high school on Facebook only to discover she is no longer the angelic beauty you recall? Some precious memories are best left as just that.

I loved WCCW so much as a kid. A few years ago, Knapik I were going to split a bootleg DVD set that had like almost every WCCW show on it ever. Now I see some of these episodes and I'm like "what the fuck is this?"

It gets good and you get the Jimmy Garvin/David Von Erich feud at the same time.

One thing I've noticed watching old wrestling shows is the amount of stuff you just accepted when you were younger that you'd never accept now. Some of the booking was just totally goofy and often you could call outside interference at least a minute before the manager/enemy hits the ring.
Still, I find myself watching old Memphis anyways because Lawler would write an entertaining show even with some of the goofiness and old school Jimmy Hart was so fun to watch.

I remember being pretty disillusioned watching Three's Company as an adult (which I loved as a kid... why did my parents think that was OK, I wonder?). Still, watching it with the context in mind is pretty fun... Kerry Von Erich kissing fans on the way to the ring... the heels getting all the promos so the faces can sign autographs.. stuff like that just cracks me up. If you enjoyed it as the serious business it was suppose to be as a kid, though, I can see why it would be hard to watch now... it's alot easier to see things coming, see what went wrong, etc. as a long time adult wrestling fan than as a kid still holding on to Kayfabe.
