Really nice start. Patriot should fit right in. I'm going to align him with Duggan against Volkoff and I. Sheik to start.

It's always great to talk to the wrestlers on the phone (if not in person). Although I've been able to make signings without ever meeting the person, it's definitely better this way. He and his wife were nice to talk to.
I think he ought to have a pretty solid singles card, but put the defensive tags on there too so you can do what you want with him. I think I'll try a singles push for him first.

Stars & Stripes are now on the table to use as a tag in your fed, though ideally there'd be an alternate babyface card for Bagwell.

I'm a big fan of the Patriot. Judging by the write up on the website they're going with Patriot Missile as his finisher, which would make this card based on his Global and WCW days. When I did my own Patriot stats last year I went with his WWF tenure mixed in with stuff from Japan, so I'm interested to see the take on this card. Either way, the art looks fantastic. Very good start. If Patriot was the "headliner" of this edition that would be good enough for me. To see that he's the lead off man so to speak makes me optimistic about what else is on the horizon this year.
Also, I think it would be nice to see a Marcus Alexander Bagwell card in a regular legends set. That special edition Buff came out a long time ago and with Scorpio and Patriot now in the game it would be nice to see a early career Marcus Bagwell to team with either one.

This also opens up a card for Doug Gilbert as the Dark Patriot (the only other good gimmick to come out of Global).

I know you think along the lines of me Mark, but I always hate the notion of we "have to have the headliner". I'm going to buy the set no matter what and am just appreciative of guys signing. I'm a big Tommy Rich fan, but that notion of having that "headliner" made his card a bit too strong for the game. Good to see The Patriot in though. The kind you need to fill in the upper mid card and can slide into a main event when needed

I'm confused it says on the Filsinger site this is Del Wilkes. I thought he sold the gimmick a long time ago

Tom Brandi claimed to have purchased it. Del says otherwise.

Tom Brandi claimed to have purchased it. Del says otherwise. Tom Brandi was full of crap and admitted as much years ago, but kind of tried to displace the blame by saying "well other people are doing it too, and there are a lot of people pretending to be Doink". Del Wilkes was the wrestler who portrayed the real Patriot and the only one with the rights to the character. Don't fall for Honky Tonk Man's BS either!

It's nice to be getting another uber face in this set. You always need guys like that on the roster.

After reading the saga of "who owns the Patriot name in wrestling?" I did some searching. Look at what Roy Wayne Farris has attempted to do over the years. What a dick. Go to this site, select "owner name and address" for field, type in "Roy Farris", and behold. tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=searchss&state=4808:houpuw.1.1

I was having no luck
