Stampede Wrestling #4 Sales Pavilion; Edmonton, AB 29 Jan 2008 --Stampede travels north to Edmonton for our first show away from Calgary. Tonight Don Muraco gets his hands on Don Leo Jonathan in a tag team encounter also involving Edouardo Carpentier and The Mongolian Stomper. But up first, an interview with DLJ... --Ed Whalen brings out the new Stampede champion, Don Leo Jonathan. DLJ again thanks the fans for their support and promises to be a fighting, honorable champion. Don Muraco and JR Foley crash the party and promise to make good on his threat of relieving DLJ of the belt. Muraco makes the comment that since he’s the #1 contender, he wants his title shot tonight. Whalen is quick to comment that it should be the Mongolian Stomper as the #1 contender but Foley says that the Stomper has relinquished it to Muraco. This brings out Keith Hart who states that title shots are earned in Stampede and not freely handed out. Hart says that since Stomper doesn’t value the #1 contendership then Stomper isn’t the #1 contender. Hart says that Edouardo Carpentier and Bad News Brown will square off at the next show to determine a new #1 contender. Muraco is enraged at the news and charges DLJ only to have DLJ deliver a high back body drop that sends Muraco flying over the top rope to the arena floor. 1. Johnny Saint d. Owen Hart w/ Dean Malenko for the third straight time after pinning Hart with the Three-In-One. The best match in the series between these two but Owen again couldn’t put Saint away. Malenko kept yelling at Owen to use shortcuts during the match but Owen kept saying no. Malenko tried to break-up the pin but was caught with a high kneelift as he was coming through the ropes and crashed to the floor. Saint hit the Three-In-One again for the win. An angry Malenko stormed to the back afterwards. 2. Sam Oliver Bass/’Big’ Phil Hickerson d. Gene Kiniski/Spiros Arion after Bass levels Arion with two straight Running Powerslams. Nice match-up between the two teams and the match could have gone either way. --Afterwards, Ed Whalen tells the crowd that Gene Kiniski is touring Japan beginning 1 Feb and will compete in the JPW singles championship tournament. Whalen wishes Kiniski the best who says he’ll do his best. Sam Oliver Bass tells Kiniski that after tonight’s performance it should be either ‘Big’ Phil or himself going over for the tour. Bass says he’ll be waiting on Kiniski when he returns. 3. The Ghetto Blasters d. Eddie Sullivan/‘Diamond’ Timothy Flowers after Scotty ‘The Body’ Poe delivers a devastating Piledriver on Flowers. The Blasters controlled from the opening bell. The only time Eddie Sullivan made it in the ring was a pin save after Brown blasted Flowers with the Ghetto Blaster. --Ed Whalen brings out the combo of Verne Gagne and Pat O’Connor. Verne says they have decided to put their singles careers in Stampede on hold for awhile and concentrate on tagging with each other. Pat says the perception is Stampede doesn’t have any top caliber tag teams and they are out to change that. Out comes JR Foley with Mystery of the Orient and says they may be great singles wrestlers but they will never compare to the greatness of Singh/Kamata as a tag team. The heels head towards the back but not before Foley tells Gagne/O’Connor “we’ll see just how good of a team you are tonight.” 4. ‘Dr D’ David Schultz d. ‘Babyface’ Don Jardine after a dominating performance with the Flying Corkscrew Elbow. Jardine couldn’t get anything going and Schultz took advantage. Afterwards, Schultz called Jardine pathetic and this was not the feared Spoiler of Georgia fame. 5. Verne Gagne/Pat O’Connor d. Mystery of the Orient w/ JR Foley by dq when Tiger Jeet Singh wouldn’t release his Stranglehold finisher on Pat O’Connor in a great match. Back and forth action as each team couldn’t hold the advantage for more than a series of moves. Afterwards, Singh continues to work over O’Connor and bloodies Pat with his sword hilt. Foley gets in the ring and smashes Gagne with a kendo stick allowing Kamata to suplex Verne onto the turnbuckle and lock him in the Camel Clutch. Finally, enough security hit the ring to chase the heels to the floor. --On the house mike, Foley tells Ed Whalen that the crowd saw a real tag team and if it wasn’t for a biased referee, Mystery of the Orient would have gotten the win. Whalen makes the remark that these two tag teams are on the verge of a brutal feud. 6. Main Event: Don Leo Jonathan/Edouardo Carpentier d. Don Muraco/Mongolian Stomper w/JR Foley after Stomper misses a high cross body from the top turnbuckle and Carpentier rolls Stomper up for the win. Muraco/Stomper dominated the match as Muraco was a beast in the match. Muraco hits an Asiatic Spike on DLJ and two Hawaiian Hammers which DLJ barely survives. DLJ makes the hot tag but was essentially out for the rest of the match. Carpentier takes over but soon Muraco/Stomper are back in control. Stomper gets cocky, however, and climbs the buckles to set-up the finish. Afterwards, Muraco merely smirks as Carpentier carries a semi-conscious Don Leo to the back.

Stampede Wrestling #5 Edson Community Center; Edson, AB 30 Jan 2008 --We make a stop west of Edmonton for a spot show. Originally, Don Leo Jonathan was supposed to face Sam Oliver Bass in a non-title match for the main event. But the powers-that-be decided to pull him from the show due to the physical toll in last night’s tag match. So Sam Oliver Bass will face off against Bad News Brown in the main event. 1. Bugsy McGraw d. The French Canadian (LT) with the Big Splash in a squash. 2. Spiros Arion d. ‘Diamond’ Timothy Flowers via dq when Flowers is caught blasting Arion with a pair of brass knuckles. Afterwards, Flowers does the DX chop over a prone Arion. 3. Owen Hart/Dean Malenko d. Scotty ‘The Body’ Poe/Johnny Saint after Owen Hart delivers a brutal piledriver to Poe on the floor. Poe doesn’t stir giving Hart/Malenko the countout victory. Afterwards, Malenko congratulates Hart on his aggressiveness as Johnny Saint shakes his head at what transpired. 4. Verne Gagne d. Tiger Jeet Singh w/ JR Foley by dq after Singh blasts Verne with Foley’s kendo stick. Afterwards, Singh pounds on Verne with his sword hilt until Pat O’Connor clears the ring and helps a bloodied Gagne back to the locker room. 5. Main Event: Sam Oliver Bass w/ Eddie Sullivan d. Bad News Brown with a Running Powerslam in an entertaining match. Afterwards, Sullivan holds Brown from behind as Bass blasts Brown repeatedly with a steel chair. Bass kept saying “I deserve to be in the #1 contendership match” during the onslaught. Finally, security restores order and Brown is helped to the back.

Stampede Wrestling #6/02 Feb 2008 Saskatoon Arena; Saskatoon, SK Broadcasted on 1Canada AM --We make our first trip into Saskatchewan. Tonight’s main event, changed due to Bad News Brown’s injury, now sees Sam Oliver Bass takes his place against Edouardo Carpentier to determine a #1 contender. Verne Gagne/Pat O’Connor tries to avenge the beatings they suffered this past week at the hands of Mystery of the Orient. Also, ‘Irish’ Mickey Doyle makes his Stampede debut. --Ed Whalen welcomes everyone listening at home on the 1Canada Network and mentions that Stampede fans will see new faces in the area in the coming weeks. He then brings out JR Foley and Don Muraco. Muraco says he should be upset that he wasn’t chosen to take Bad News Brown’s spot tonight but he isn’t. Muraco tells the crowd his time is near and soon, very soon he’ll be wearing the Stampede title. Foley grabs the mike and tells Commissioner Keith Hart that he’s through playing games and puts the entire promotion on notice. He says Muraco is a destructive force just waiting to be unleashed and from this point on, it’s Hart’s fault what happens next. 1. ‘Irish’ Mickey Doyle d. Billy Hamilton Jr (LT) with a Top Rope Splash in a squash. Doyle, one of Stampede’s newest mid-heavyweights, makes his successful debut as Ed Whalen made the comment that Doyle looked to have lost a bit of weight to make it to the 225 lb weight limit. 2. Dean Malenko w/ Owen Hart d. Johnny Saint after Saint ducks his head for a back body drop off the ropes and Malenko hits a picture perfect sunset flip and uses the ropes for leverage to pick-up the win. Excellent match between the two. --Afterwards, Owen Hart gets on the house mike and apologizes to Scotty ‘The Body’ Poe for the piledriver at the last show. An angry Malenko says he just showed Owen how to beat Johnny Saint and all Owen wants to do is apologize to freaking Scotty Poe. The two stand nose-to-nose before Johnny Saint steps between them. Malenko spins Saint around and crushes him with a vicious lariat before storming to the back. 3. The Mongolian Stomper w/ JR Foley d. Bugsy McGraw after smashing McGraw with his ‘loaded’ boot. Afterwards, Stomper continues the attack and bloodies McGraw with repeated blows from his boot. McGraw fights his way back until Foley smashes McGraw with his kendo stick. Stomper locks on the Shininomaki and chokes McGraw out. 4. ’Big’ Phil Hickerson/’Diamond’ Timothy Flowers d. ‘Babyface’ Don Jardine/Spiros Arion after Hickerson catches Jardine with a Big Powerslam. Jardine again reaches for his famed black glove but again Arion stops him. Hickerson quickly capitalizes with the Big Powerslam and his feet on the ropes for the win. Afterwards, Arion goes after Flowers but Flowers catches him with a pair of brass knuckles and again, Flowers does the DX chop over a prone Arion. 5. Verne Gagne/Pat O’Connor d. Mystery of the Orient w/ JR Foley when Kamata submits to O’Connor’s Spinning Toehold. Gagne/O’Connor dominates the match as Singh never made it to the ring. Singh/Kamata attack after the match but Gagne/O’Connor fights them off until Don Muraco gets involved. Hawaiian Hammers level Gagne/O’Connor and Singh attacks with his sword hilt until Don Leo Jonathan runs out to make the save. --DLJ grabs the house mike and says enough is enough. He promised the Stampede fans he would be a fighting champion and he’s going to live up to that promise. He tells Keith Hart to make the match against Muraco for the Stampede title at the next show. This brings out Keith Hart who says that despite the apparent chaos there are rules that the promotion upholds. Hart tells DLJ that the next title shot goes to the winner of the next match. Hart tells the champ that if he wants Muraco so bad then he can have him in a non-title bout on Tuesday in Regina. 6. In the main event to determine the #1 contender for the Stampede championship, Edouardo Carpentier d. Sam Oliver Bass with the Flying Somersault. Initially, Bass wore down Carpentier with his rough house tactics and nearly put Carpentier away with a Running Powerslam. Carpentier catches a break when Bass misses a turnbuckle charge and fights his way back into the match. --Afterwards, Bad News Brown makes his way out and tells the crowd Bass will pay for what he did. Brown leaves on this note...paybacks are a...

Mr JL makes his debut against another newcomer, Mickey Doyle and the team of Gagne/O’Connor/Carpentier battle Foley’s Army. In the main event, Don Leo Jonathan battles ‘Magnificent’ Don Muraco in a non-title bout. --Commissioner Keith Hart comes out and says that Stampede has signed a few free agents that will make an impact in the weeks to come. Hart says Stampede now has enough mid-heavyweights on the roster to commission the Commonwealth mid-heavyweight title. Hart also says that the Royal Kangaroos have been signed and the promotion will look at creating tag titles in the near future. Finally, Hart brings us back to the issues at present. Hart says that if Muraco wins tonight he’ll challenge for the title on 16 Feb in Calgary. 1. ‘Irish’ Mickey Doyle d. Mr JL in an excellent opening bout. JL controlled early but Doyle fought his way back and earned a victory with a power body slam. 2. Johnny Saint/Scotty ‘The Body’ Poe d. Owen Hart/Dean Malenko after Saint catches Malenko with the Three-In-One. Poe was on fire in this one as he delivers two Piledrivers to Malenko but Dean manages to kick out of both. After the match, a man dressed in pink street clothes and wearing a pink lucha mask, hops the railing and lays a big kiss on Owen. Owen pushes the man away but the man charges back and levels Owen with a stiff lariat. He grabs the house mike and introduces himself as ‘Exotic’ Adrian Street and he’s here to make Owen Hart’s life hell. Street says he’s the greatest cruiserweight, jr heavyweight, mid-heavyweight...whatever you want to call it...in the world and in the next few weeks he’s going to prove it. 3. ‘Diamond’ Timothy Flowers d. ‘Babyface’ Don Jardine after newcomer, Adrian Street, low blows Jardine as Flowers distracts the referee. This leads to Flowers blasting Jardine with a pair of brass knuckles as Street distracts the ref leading to the pinfall. Afterwards, Flowers high-fives Street as they head to the back. 4. ‘Dr D’ David Schultz d. Bugsy McGraw by dq after McGraw blasts Schultz with a steel chair. Wild match that started on the floor and stayed there throughout as the referee was content to let both men slug it out. Both bleed in this one as Bugsy took a chair away from ‘Dr D’ and blasted him with it for the finish. 5. Verne Gagne/Pat O’Connor/Edouardo Carpentier battle The Mongolian Stomper/Mystery of the Orient w/ JR Foley to a no contest after all 6-men were brawling on the floor and the referee had no choice to through the match out. During the brawl, Stomper nails Carpentier with his Lex Flexer and opens a nasty gash on Carpentier’s head. Gagne/O’Connor rush to Carpentier’s aid as they drive off Foley’s Army. 6. In the non-title main event, Don Leo Jonathan d. Don Muraco w/ JR Foley by dq after DLJ locks Muraco up in the Mormon Swing and JR Foley calls out his army. Foley’s Army storms the ring and start laying boots to the champ. DLJ is held down as Muraco grabs a can of spray paint from Foley and sprays a yellow streak down DLJ’s back. Finally, the trio of Gagne/O’Connor/Arion race down to the ring and chase the heels to the back. --Afterwards, a livid DLJ has to be restrained by Gagne and company as Muraco taunts the champion over the house mike.

Tor Kamata/The Mongolian Stomper w/ JR Foley d. ‘Babyface’ Don Jardine/Bugsy McGraw after Kamata smashes Jardine with Foley’s kendo stick as the referee is trying to control Stomper/McGraw on the floor. Stampede Wrestling #9/09 Feb 2008 The Stampede Corral; Calgary, AB Broadcasted on 1Canada AM Networks --We say this just about every show but this really is the biggest show in the short history of Stampede’s current owners. Tonight’s big main event pits Stampede champion, Don Leo Jonathan versus challenger, Edouardo Carpentier in a Best 2/3 Falls bout. In tag action, Verne Gagne/Pat O’Connor, now known collectively as The Technicians, face Mystery of the Orient and the winner faces the LWA National tag champions in a non-title bout on the 16th. But up first, mid-heavyweight triple threat elimination action starts the show. 1. Johnny Saint d. Mr JL and ‘Irish’ Mickey Doyle after Saint first puts Doyle away with the Three-In-One and then JL falls to the Three-In-One. Saint continues to roll against the rest of the mid-heavy division. 2. Owen Hart/Dean Malenko d. ‘Exotic’ Adrian Street/’Diamond’ Timothy Flowers after Hart downs Flowers with a Diving Headbutt. Street never got in the ring and didn’t seem to really want to. Afterwards, Hart tried to coax Street into the ring to face him but Street grabbed Flowers and led his tag partner to the back. 3. ‘Dr D’ David Schultz d. Bugsy McGraw after a series of vicious chops. Schultz stunned McGraw with a running bulldog to set-up the finish. Afterwards, Schultz kept up his attack and bloodied McGraw with a series of chair shots. This feud is far from over. 4. ‘Babyface’ Don Jardine d. The Mongolian Stomper w/ JR Foley by dq after Stomper was caught smashing Jardine with his ‘Stomper Flexer.’ Jardine was abused in this match as he got in little offense but Foley wanted Stomper to put an exclamation point on his win. However, Stomper gets a little carried away and dq’ed in the process. 5. Bad News Brown/Scotty ‘The Body’ Poe d. Sam Oliver Bass/’Big’ Phil Hickerson after Brown blasts Bass with the Ghetto Blaster. Brown was money in this one as he dominates both of his opponents. Afterwards, Hickerson blasts Brown with his chain. Scotty is in but eats a chain shot himself. Brown is up and charges after Hickerson but Bass smashes Brown from behind with a lariat. Hickerson winds up and bloodies Brown with the chain before Scotty chases the heels from the ring with a chair. 6. Don Muraco w/ JR Foley d. Spiros Arion with the Hawaiian Hammer in a brutal match that saw Muraco dominate and bloody Arion. Afterwards, Muraco kicks Arion out of the ring and grabs the house mike. Muraco tells the crowd he just destroyed a man in Arion that could win any regional championship in the LWA. He says it’s time for Stampede to make the match everyone wants to see. Muraco says it doesn’t matter who the champion is after tonight, he will pursue the Stampede title to the ends of the earth if he has to. Muraco tells the crowd that painting a yellow streak on DLJ’s back was just a start. Suddenly, the crowd jumps to its feet as Billy Robinson charges to the ring and flattens Muraco with a lariat. Robinson takes the vacated house mike and tells Muraco that he has one thing on his mind and that’s revenge. He says that before Muraco thinks about getting a title shot, he’s got to go through Robinson first. 7. The Technicians d. Mystery of the Orient w/ JR Foley after Gagne puts Singh to sleep with a Sleeper (+4). Kamata tried to save his partner but O’Connor puts Kamata down with a sleeper of his own. Foley tries to intervene but Verne quickly subdues him with a Gagne Sleeper as well. The Technicians are really on a roll in Stampede and now face the LWA National tag champions in non-title action next week. 8. In the Best 2 Out of 3 Falls main event for the Stampede title; champion, Don Leo Jonathan battled challenger, Edouardo Carpentier to a 60-minute time limit draw. Both men had only scored one fall apiece when the time limit expired. In what was an instant 5-star classic, both men scored pinfalls with their respective finishers; DLJ with the Mormon Swing at the 28-minute mark and Carpentier with the Flying Somersault at the 45-minute mark. At this point, both men turned it up a notch trying to get the deciding pinfall. Carpentier, however, came so close to scoring the upset when he hit the Flying Somersault as the time limit expired. --Afterwards, both men shook hands as the crowd was on their feet. Keith Hart came down to the ring and led the fans in a round of applause for the two combatants. Hart announced that DLJ will defend the Stampede title against Carpentier in another Best 2 Out of 3 Falls match on the 16 Feb show. He also stated the Stampede Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight title tourney will start next week as well. But first, a mid-heavyweight mini-battle royal will be held Tuesday night and the winner will receive a bye into the semifinal round.

Two straight Gagne Sleepers weakened Bass enough to set-up the finish. 5. But his aggressiveness proved to be his downfall as he charged Malenko who ducked and sent JL over the top rope. Afterwards, Owen Hart, angry at being dumped over the top rope by Dean Malenko, confronted Malenko who stated Hart would have done the same thing to him if the opportunity had presented itself. The two shook hands and walked to the back. 7. Mongolian Stomper/’Dr D’ David Schultz w/ JR Foley d. Don Leo Jonathan/Edouardo Carpentier after Stomper catches DLJ in the Shininomaki. An enraged Muraco continues the assault on Jardine by delivering a brutal piledriver through a table at ringside. Jardine had to be stretchered out of the arena after the match. --Immediately after the show, JR Foley petitioned Keith Hart on The Mongolian Stomper’s behalf for a Stampede heavyweight title shot using tonight’s results as the catalyst.
