Am I a fool to think that a Melo/Amare/Paul team in NY wouldn't be as good as people would anticipate. I honestly think NY made a giant mistake bringing Melo to town last season. He and Amare play too similar a style and they have no low post defense because of it.

I agree about Miami. If they can't steal a ring in this chaos, then they'll never, ever get one. I tend to think the Bulls might scoop up a couple of names and beat the Heat this time around but we'll see. I'd love to see the Heat not even make the Finals in 2011-12 and have a few surprise teams in the Finals mix. I wouldn't mind seeing a resurgence of the Bulls going to the Finals, but a team like Oklahoma City would be a fresh face into the Finals. Overall this will be a Chaotic season for the NBA and it'll be interesting to see the Fan drop off numbers both at the arena's and tv ratings...

Knicks team could be a bad trio for sure...

Gotta love Twitter, so what's the big rumor about Paul and Howard going to LA?

Ask the Philadelphia Eagles how signing a bunch of All-Pros doesn't guarantee you anything. Even though I like the NBA, I wouldn't have been overly sad if there was no season this year. Stern has the league an absolute mess, and from the sounds of it the new agreement didn't solve much. They want to get away from only 6-8 teams being relevant......but I don't think they accomplished anything in that regard.

Gotta love Twitter, so what's the big rumor about Paul and Howard going to LA? Nothing but a rumor. They don't have the assets to trade for both. Besides, I don't think hope that Otis Smith is not dumb enough to trade D12 right away. Wait until the trade deadline and see who offers up the best deal. Right now, I would take the proposed/rumored Nets deal of D12 and Turk for Brook Lopez and a couple of first rounders. But again, there is always the possibility that the Bulls try to team D12 with Rose. The Bulls could offer up either Omar Asik or Noah and then their choice of a couple other young guys. But Paul is probably going this week and I wouldn't count out him going to the Clippers.

Paul to the Lakers for Gasol and Odom.
Knicks are favored to get Chandler. I don't think he really fits their system at all.

Chris Paul trade was stopped by the League because the Small Market owners did not like this trade. It seemed the NBA was sailing on calm sea's, but the Small Market versus Large Market teams is on jack...

I'm sad, because that trade would have killed the Lakers. Paul and Bryant, with no frontcourt? Terrible. Definitely a downgrade, unless that managed to get Howard for Bynum and a bunch of crap, but even then, Miami has proven 3 man teams aren't that great.
I think the Hornets getting Scola, Kevin Martin, Dragic, and a 1st round pick is pretty good for Paul.. not sure what the problem was.

Everybody's bitching about how the NBA nixed the trade. I would not be shocked if it still winds up going through.

I think that was a pretty fair trade. New Orleans was getting two All-Stars for a superstar. Hell, they could've still made the playoffs post trade.

The NBA are trying to find a owner for the Hornets and having Paul on the team is ment to lure a new owner, but it looks like that'll backfire. I've seen talks that the future of the Hornets is not good and some said the Hornets should've been contracted. It looks like the Brooklyn Nets will have Dwight Howard this season and overall the NBA is still a League of Chaos...

But does Howard to the Nets really help anyone out? I can't imagine he'll be able to really help them all that much.

But does Howard to the Nets really help anyone out? I can't imagine he'll be able to really help them all that much. You have to remember the Nets will be in NYC and their New Russian Millionaire wants to spend the cash to make the Nets a winner and Dwight Howard is One of the Major Players that'll lead them in that direction. The Nets are moving into a New building and like with all new buildings the owner needs to sell seats and Dwight Howard will do just that and it helps make whats important is Money for the team...

If the Hornets were owned by John Smith, and he had vetoed the trade made by his general manager sending Paul to LA for Khloe Kardashian's husband and a grab bag of midcarders from Houston, while at the same time taking money out of his pocket by relieving the Lakers' luxury tax burden, I think people would have fallen into one of three camps: A) He's right B) He's meddling Jerry Jones/Mark Cuban wanna be and should let his basketball people make the basketball decisions. C) I don't like it, but it's his team he can do what he wants.
But, because the team is owned by the league, ESPN is reporting it like it's armageddon.
