Now it's being reported that the Nets owner might have tampered with Howard and Dwight stated he never met with the Nets owner. What a cluster fuck the NBA is with the Chris Paul deal and the Dwight Howard deal...

Brandon Roy is retiring. Sucks, I have an autographed basketball I won on IGN and he was the guy who signed it. He was pretty good, too.

I'm not surprised that Roy's retiring. I don't think his knee has anything left.

The Lakers took themselves out of the Chris Paul sweepstakes. More than likely they were tired of trying to jump through hoops to obtain him. It was a good deal for all three teams, so I really don't understand the reasoning behind the veto. It was certainly more fair than how Gasol got to the Lakers. They are going to try and make a big push to get D12 now. But, if I'm Otis Smith, I take the offer from the New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets. Lopez and two first rounders for D12 and the stiff known as Hedo. Hell yes!

I hate the Lakers but I don't see why the league blocked that deal. Honestly, I think the Lakers would've been a worse team with Paul than with Gasol and Odom staying.

It seems the Nets or Lakers are in the hunt for Howard, but the strange issue is the Magic are holding off on the Charges of Tampering by Jersey because of a possible deal could be worked out. To me if there was Tampering it still should be delt with by Stern, but I'm not up on the NBA Laws...

I don't know what the punishment is for tampering but Otis Smith could easily say, "Hey, either you give us what we want or I give Stern a call about that bit of tampering you did".

LOL! Looks like a deal could be made where Chris Paul joins Blake Griffin and the LA Clippers...

I think the NBA is trying to keep their star players with their original team unless they can totally rape someone for him. I am not sure why the Lakers wanted Paul so bad. Once Bynum gets hurt like he always does, they won't have anyone left to get a rebound.

I think the NBA are being stupid here. Paul going to LA would've hurt them more than anything. Paul doesn't want to play for New Orleans. What's the point of having a disgruntled superstar on the team?

I don't understand it at all. The NBA should have just contracted the team when they couldn't find a buyer. But now, they are wayyyy overvaluing the interest in Paul.
The three team deal was the better deal. Getting back K-Mart, Scola, ect. But the Clipper deal was good too. They were offering Aminu (a nice young talent), Gordon, Kaman and an almost guaranteed #1 pick in next years draft. That number one pick will more than likely result in Sullinger or Harrison. I just don't get what they are waiting/looking for.

The league didn't nix the deal with the Clippers, the Clippers did... they decided the price was too high.
