Thanks, J! Hopefully, I didn't get too carried away with this one...
Friday Night Fireworks Hammerstein Ballroom Jan. 23rd, 2009 (Matinee Show)
Commissioner Wildfire was in the ring to start the show, and announced that EWE would have their first ever Supercard, No Angels, Sunday, February 15th. While no matches are signed yet, the commissioner promised the card would be like nothing seem before on EWE TV!
Nick Mondo**** Vs. Strong Kobayashi*** Mondo was looking for some respect here, especially after his buddy Drake Younger defeated Kobayashi. In another excellent match, Mondo gave everything he had, but Kobayashi would not be denying. The crowd was on their feet by the end. Strong Kobayashi def. Nick Mondo with the Boston Crab @ 13: 32
After the match, Mondo was joined by Younger, the Dragons, and Necro Butcher. Drake had the mic. Younger: Nice place you got here. small pop I want to thank Nick for letting us know where to find the TRUE extreme action is. bigger pop . We are the innovators, the artists of the new age. We are the Wave of the Future,,, you can ride along… Mondo: Or be swept away.
Dudley Boyz Vs. Marc Mero/Gangrel* The new team of Mero and Gangrel never stood a chance against the freight train known as the Dudleys. The Outlaws better beware! Dudley Boyz Def. Mero/Gangrel with the 3D @ 3:14
Billy Gunn(w/ Jesse James) Vs. Spike Dudley*** The Outlaws were looking to send a message.. But Spike had other ideas. The little guy took a huge beating from Gunn, but fought back in impressive fashion before staying down. Road Dogg came in for the beat down after the bell, but Bubba Ray and D-Von quickly made the save, sending the Outlaws running. Billy Gunn def. Spike Dudley with a Piledriver @ 7: 52
Jimmy Hart’s troops came out for the main event first, to thunderous boos. Greg Valentine actually got nailed by a fan holding a broomstick as they headed out to the ring. Before they even made it to the ring Tommy Dreamer and his boys hit the ring, and the fight was on!
Honky Tonk Man/Greg Valentine/Jim Niedhart vs. Tommy Dreamer/Sandman/Al Snow This match only passingly used the ring.. All six men tore into each other, pair up in various combinations as the action moved. The end came when Tommy saw and opportunity to go after Hart, and was blindsided by Honky with a guitar-shattering kabong to the head. Hart cackled maniacally as the referee counted the fall. Honky/Greg Valentine/Jim Niedhart def. Dreamer/Sandman/Snow with a guitar shot @ 9:41
Backstage, after the show Commissioner Wildfire is on the phone: Wildfire: It’ll save us both some money… your guys are here, and I don’t mind sharing my charter. Really, its no trouble. Yes, I’ll be there. See you then.
Several hours later, Jimmy Hart and his men are on the plane Hart: Can we have some service here? I asked for my drink ten minutes ago! That would be just like that cheapskate to book us a charter with lousy waiters. Why I -- Hart stopped in sentence as the ‘waiter’ appeared… Tommy Dreamer! Dreamer tossed the alcohol in Hart’s face and attacked the wrestlers, while Sandman and Al Snow (who was in a pilot uniform) joined in. They then took their usual seats on the plane, bashing a head every so often to keep them groaning on the floor for the flight.

Title Tuesday House Show Burt Flichinger Civic Center (Buffalo, NY) Jan. 27th, 2009
Marc Mero/Gangrel* Vs. Z-Men Gangrel told the crowd that his minion, “Wildman” Marc Mero, will be the next EWE champion, and demanded a title shot for him. Mero cringed a bit at being called a minion Sam came out and announced that,at the request of the champ, Nick Mondo would be getting the opportunity tonight. Gangrel looked upset, and took a set toward the exec, who made a hasty retreat. Tom Zenk took exception to scaring the poor office boy and nailed Gangrel to start the match. Mero didn’t fare much better, as the Z-Men got the quick victory. Z-Men def. Mero/Gangrel when Zumhofe pinned Mero after the Rock ‘n’ Roll Splash @ 3:51
Drake Younger*** Vs. Spike Dudley Coming off his big win over Strong Kobayashi, Younger was confident… too confident. Spike outwrestled and out hustled him to a surprising victory. Spike Dudley def. Drake Younger with the Acid Drop @ 6:16
Dudley Boyz Vs. Hardcore Legends No joy in Dudleyville tonight… Sandman delivered a vicious cane shot that will have Buh Buh singing soprano for some time Hardcore Legends def. Dudley Boyz when Sandman def. Buh Buh Ray Dudley with a cane shot. @ 7:45
EWE Tag Team Title Match Naptown Dragons Vs. New Age Outlaws The Dragons were given a title shot as a reward for signing with EWE, which the Dudleys can’t be happy about. The Dragons showed heart, but the Outlaws were too much for them. New Age Outlaws def. Naptown Dragons when Jesse James pinned Scotty Vorteks with a DDT @ 7:55
EWE Title Match Tommy Dreamer**** Vs. Nick Mondo** The two shook hands to start the match, the Mondo floored the champ with a left cross. Sick Nick pulled out all the stops, and very nearly won the title after following up a chair shot with M. Bison. He was pressing his advantage when Gangrel and Marc Mero hit the ring! Mero laid out Mondo from behind the the two looked like they were ready to do serious damage when the rest of Wave of the Future hit the ring. The lights went out as the charged to the ring, and Mondo was covered in blood, Gangrel and Mero were nowhere to be seen. Tommy Dreamer def. Nick Mondo by DQ @ 13: 34

No Angels Tour House Show Jan. 29th. 2009 OnCenter Complex, Syracuse, NY
Drake Younger*** Vs. Spike Dudley**** Great Match!!! Younger brought his A-game, but Spike was ready as well. Dudley was on fire early, but Drake grabbed a belt from under the ring and used it to brand Dudley before planting him with Drake's Landing. Dudley, somehow, kicked out.. only a 2nd and 3rd Drake's Landing kept Spike down. Younger was impressed. Drake Younger def. Spike Dudley with Drake's Landing. Rating:****
Gangrel(w/ Marc Mero) Vs. Buck Zumhofe Gangrel ordered Mero to steal Zumhofe's boom box, which was enough distraction to allow the quick win. Gangrel ordered Mero to attack, but Mero seemed reluctant to do so, and Gangrel quickly slapped him. Mero looked through him, then walked to the back. Gangrel def. Buck Zumhofe with an Impaler DDT. Rating: 1/2*
Naptown Dragons Vs. Hardcore Legends Al Snow told the crowd Tommy Dreamer had some business 'down south', but promised the champ would be back next week. He called Scotty Vortekz 'son' and told the Dragons they'd be something someday. Scotty answered with an impressive dropkick to start the match, drawing a smile from the Sandman on the apron. The smile quickly changed with the Dragons dismantled Snow for the quick win. The Naptown Dragons def. Hardcore Legends with Double Dragon. Rating: * ½ stars
Backstage: Commissioner Wildfire is at his desk, pour over wrestler profiles. Sam comes in, drawing an annoyed look Sam: Sir, the Dudleys... Wildfire; Can't this wait, Sam? I'm getting ready for the talent draft. Sam: Sir? Wildfire: You know, the thing where we add a few more wrestlers to our roster... I was thinking to try to get Necro Butcher... Sam: Sir, the draft? Wildfre: Yes, the draft? Are you having another episode? Sam: No sir, it's just... Wildfire: Well, spit it out! Sam: The draft was yesterday, sir. I think maybe you missed it? Wildfire: Yesterday... the commissioner flings the files across the room and lets out a string of curses that drive Sam from his office
Billy Gunn*** Vs. Buh Buh Ray Dudley It seems Sam set up this match, in an attempt to appease the angry Dudleys without exceeding his authority. Billy dominated early, but Buh Buh used a chair to change the momentum, Gunn never recovered. Buh Buh Ray Dudley def. Billy Gunn with the Buh Buh Bomb. Rating: ** ½
Marc Mero(w/ Gangrel) Vs. Nick Mondo Brutal match! The fighting went all over the arena, with Gangrel there every step of the way, shouting 'encouragement' to Mero, but not actually helping him at all. Mondo actually used him as a screen to gain the advantage on two different occasions. Mero got the victory, then left without celebrating with Gangrel. Marc Mero def. Nick Monod with a Slingshot Leg Drop. Rating: ***.

Heh, funny you should say that... I was, in fact, at a bachelor party for my little brother. Of course, being the morally upstanding person I am, I was much more interesting in the hoops we played the next morning, then in the 'dancers' at the party

Friday Night Fireworks Hammerstein Ballroom January 30th , 2009
Nick Mondo Vs. Spike Dudley Mondo did things the easy way, a fork to the eyes made this one a quick match. Nick Mondo def. Spike Dudley with a foreign Object. Rating: ½ *
Sam comes out to the ring for an announcement. Before he could get going, the Dudleys interrupt, and demand a tag team title shot.
Buh Buh: Why'd those low life indy teams get automatic title shots when former world champs like us get $#!#? Sam: Actually, Mr. Buh Buh, I am here to annouce that very thing... you will have your title shot.. at No Angels on the 15th.
The Dudleys seems stunned, and a little disappointed they didn't have to put Sam through a table to get their way, and started to leave when the Naptown Dragons attacked them! The brawl went on for about a minute, before Sam summoned a referee and made it an official match
Dudley Boyz Vs. Naptown Dragons** The Dragons were unable to do much to the much larger Dudleys, who shrugged off their aerial manuvers. Dustin Lee briefly knocked Buh Buh off his feet, but the advantage was short lived. The Dudley Boyz def. Naptown Dragons with the 3D. Rating: **.
Gangrel***** Vs. Drake Younger** Gangrel kept looking back to the locker room as he entered the ring, and the distraction allowed Younger to take the early advantage. The match went back and forth, with lots of action both in and out of the ring. Gangrel wore down as the battle wore on, and Younger finally was able to keep him down. Drake Younger def. Gangrel with Drake's Landing. Rating: ***
The Sandman come out to a big pop, and tell the crowd Tommy Dreamer had some business down south again, but promised he'd be on Friday Night Fireworks kicking !$$ next week. He was interrupted by the New Age Outlaws, who mocked the champ and his friends, calling Dreamer a 'paper champion' who can't even beat a dead rock star. The commissioner then came out and announced that since they were getting along so well, The Outlaws and the Hardcore Legends would fight later tonight for the Tag Team Titles! Road Dogg was not happy, and grumbled all the way to the back.
Marc Mero Vs. Buck Zumhofe Mero came out alone, but Gangrel hit the ring shortly after the start of the match. Zumhofe turned his back to assess the new threat, and Mero quickly took advantage for the victory. Gangrel entered the ring, but got in Mero's face, seemingly yelling at him. Mero was not having any of it, and tried to walk away, leading to a slap from Gangrel. Whatever the vampire said that accompanied the slap did the trick, as Mero stopped the conflict and followed (at a bit of a distance) Gangrel to the back. Marc Mero def. Bick Zumhofe with a dropkick. Rating: *
EWE Tag Team Title Match New Age Outlaws******* Vs. Hardcore Legends***** The was the first real challenge the Outlaws faced, as Snow and Sandman really brought their 'A' game. Jesse James got clobbered with the Singapore Cane several times, and was bleeding profusely. Billy came to the rescue on two different occasions. The Outlaws got desperate, and BA resorted to 'showing his ASSets' to distract Al Snow and let Road Dogg to get the pin. New Age Outlaws def. Hardcore Legends with a Shake, Rattle and Roll Knee Drop. Rating: **** ½.
