That's an interesting storyline, Holland. I wouldn't picture George as being "hardcore" on the level of Sandman, Sabu, and the other ECW guys. But he was sneaky and would cheat to win. I could see him fighting dirty against certain opponents. In my USWA fed, George was a three-time Southern Heavyweight champ. I often saw him as a heel champ like a Ric Flair, who would often get DQ'd or do whatever he could to hold on to the gold. Well it was like he was so offended that his beauty was ruined that he went into a trance like state of rage. He refused to see himself in a mirror until the cut and marks were visibly gone, at the end of the feud, and when he saw his beauty again came out of it. It was a fun story line

Ok just wondering how you guys keep things interesting when the storylines start getting a little weak. I think holding tournaments help spice things up a little Yeah the great thing with tournaments is not only having a tournament winner, but you can get some interesting feuds started

How often do you rotate wrestlers in and out of your fed. Does it depend on how well or how bad they're doing or do you have it figured out in advance ?

In my bootleg feds, I usually sign the wrestlers to predetermined lengths (sometimes months, sometimes cards). When their contract is up, I make a decision about re-signing based upon storyline or, quite frankly, just how tired I am of the wrestler. I use myself as a barometer for the fans...who I'm tired of...I figure they are tired of.
Expansion of the total wrestlers depends upon my ability to regularly give everyone a match . It's 'feel' thing.

Sometimes it's just based on "feeling"--how good a win-loss record the guy's compiled, does he have any interesting feuds/storylines going on, etc. There are times where I bring in a guy with the idea that it's for a certain amount of time only. Perhaps I have a feud in mind just for that guy and once the feud's over, he's gone. Of course things can always change. Looking at my USWA fed this year, I've been going through the current roster and analyzing how long certain guys have been in. There are quite a few who have been around since the beginning. I'm trying to rotate them out in favor of new blood. But if they're still doing well and I'm interested in them, I'll keep them around, no matter how long they've been in.

Same thing for me...its all largely interest and storyline. If someone gets stale, either because they can't buy a win or because they are dominant to the point of annoyance, I'll slide them out.

On the other board there was a thread about booking sheets. From what I remember this was the idea of planning out events months ahead of time. It sounded like a good idea but I dont think i'd be able to plan things out that far ahead of time. I usually go with flow and only have things planned out a few cards ahead of time. Does anyone else use booking sheets or plan things out months in advance ?

I am, like, weeks in advance, tops. I may have IDEAS for months ahead...but plans are always subject to change.

I may decide, for example, my next PPV's main event is Thantos versus Star Warrior in a cage. So, I build the match during the interim, including why it needs to be a cage match. The dice can be the problem, however, and changes to plans can be frequent. Graymar

Just this year, I started using an Excel spreadsheet that Tim Dalton sent me for his own fed. I plan out the dates and arenas for the whole year. I'd say I plan about 2 months or so ahead, but of course, the dice can change plans.
The biggest thing I plan for the whole year is when new wrestlers are going to debut or when old wrestlers are returning. Particularly if the new/returning guys are going to have a feud right away with a current wrestler(s), I want to plan out how that feud will start up. But even with the debuts/returns, plans can change.

Sounds interesting. Any Way of us getting to look at this spreadsheet? I'd like to take a look at that also I could try copying/pasting them on here, but I don't know if the formatting would get messed up. I'll try doing that later tonight. Otherwise, just PM me your e-mail addresses and I can e-mail you a copy. (Capt. Cold, I've still got your e-mail.)
