In a typical "month", I have three cards. The three top titles (World Heavyweight, Tag Team, and Southern) rotate through and are defended (in that order) as the main event of each card. I kind of have the "30-day rule" in effect, but it's more like "once a calendar month", then every actual 30 days. The Texas title is obviously only defended on Texas cards. Presently, I run about 6-7 Texas cards a year, so this doesn't get defended as often as the top three. In months that I have a supercard, the defenses may get changed up. With my New Year's Knockout show in December, if a title will get defended, I will announce that match ahead of time, and then often the champ doesn't have to defend on the regular card that month. (Again, referring to the "once a month" defense rule.) The champ(s) may wrestle in the main event of the regular card, but it wouldn't be a title defense. I hope that makes sense. NYK is currently the only annual supercard I hold, although I'll be having an extra supercard this year. I haven't decided if it will be an annual event or not. I've been meaning to ask you this so I'm glad you brought it up again is your Texas title part of a smaller fed or is it part of your main one?

Good question, CC. I do considered it a sanctioned USWA title, as the Texas champ (so far) wrestles regularly in the other cities in my territory.
Basically when I started my USWA, I pictured it as primarily the territory that Jarrett and Lawler ran through the '70s and '80s (Tennessee, Kentucky, etc.), as well as the version of the "USWA" name throughout most of the '90s. But since the "USWA" started as a combined Lawler/Jarrett with the remnants of World Class (in Texas), I later decided to do occasional cards in Texas. Later I added a Texas title, with the idea that's it more for guys who probably wouldn't hold one of the other singles titles (tag specialists or just "weaker" guys).
I still wanted to say that WCCW was the main Texas promotion, primarily just for historical purposes. So I say that they "allow" the USWA to promote in their cities on "off-nights". That's also why I've had the Von Erichs wrestle in special attractions on USWA-promoted cards too.
I have thought about having the USWA Texas belt defended on WCCW cards, or something so it was defended more often. But for now, I think I will stick to this formula.

Good formula it is, as it seems to work. Also I enjoy the booking formula posted. I have actually started using it and it has helped me set some future stuff up.

I just reread my last post and wanted to clarify something. Later I added a Texas title, with the idea that's it more for guys who probably wouldn't hold one of the other singles titles (tag specialists or just "weaker" guys). Within the context of my fed, it's not like I portray the Texas belt as "weaker". It's always the semi-main event on the Texas cards. A few times it has even main evented, when it was on the line in a hot feud match. But statistically speaking, the guys who hold it and/or challenge for it are not the main event guys. Probably the toughest guys to hold it or compete for it are Greg Valentine, Nikolai Volkoff, and Ox Baker.

I like the Idea of your Texas champion. Give you a reason to get into Texas without rubbing WCCW the wrong way, as well as gives you a special attraction to your federation.

The one thing I've always had trouble with is booking tag teams. It always seems that the same teams end up wrestling each other a lot. In other words I dont have enough teams but at the same time I dont want to have too many. How do you guys handle tag teams

I have troubles with that from time-to-time. For me, it's not so much the same teams wrestling each other, but having enough teams to build up good win-loss records and qualify for a shot at the belts.
I don't have any set number for how many teams I have in the fed at one time, but I usually have around 8 or so "regular" teams. Depending on the team members, I usually have the members wrestle singles bouts too every so often. As I stated in my previous posts, guys who are more tag specialists are often the ones I have challenging for the USWA Texas title.

My teams, no matter how many I have, seem to wind up getting locked into a set order...the #1 team doesn't budge, #2 stays right behind them, etc...

This is my current tag team situation. I restarted ( hopefully for the last time) with the original 24 cards. This only gave me a few tag teams to start off plus I wanted to use Johnny Valentine as singles wrestler. I added the Armstrongs and The Samoans for a total of 5 teams. Five teams seemed like an ok number to start off with but now after ten or so cards 3 of those teams have had the title and things are getting stale. I need to introduce new teams but I dont want to do it all at once. Does anybody have any suggestions ?

Use some of the singles wrestlers as a tag team for awhile.

With The Necro Butcher being in Legends of the Future, how are you guys planning to use him? I see him having a nice, long, bloody rivalry with Bruiser Brody in my Texas fed.
